Changes in the Rēzekne municipality's special school network
A number of changes will be made to the Rēzekne municipality in 2019. Maltas special boarding school from 1 July 2019 will have a new name – the special primary school of Rezekne. In contrast, the other two special schools – the Adamov Special Inboarding School and the Special Inboarding School of Three – are eliminated by 31 August 2019.
A special school of the Rezekne municipality will implement several educational programmes by 1 September 2019. In the school premises at Rozentova Street, 9 pupils will learn special basic education programmes for children with mental disabilities (codes of educational programmes: 21015811 and 21015821), or one of the vocational basic education programmes (currently licensed) 3: “Manufacture of wooden products” (qualification – carpenter assistant), “catering services” (qualification – cook assistant), “production technology of sewn products” (qualification – ancillary seamer).
Maltā, mountain street 4 exercises continue children with severe mental disabilities or several serious developmental disorders (codes of educational programmes: 21015911 and 21015921). The special pre-school education groups (codes of educational programmes: 01015811 and 01015911) and most of the schools offered by the school (salt room, infrared sauna, bubble bath, massage office, inhalation, etc.) are located in this building.
Children with learning disabilities and children with mental health disorders (codes of educational programmes: 21015611, 21015711, 21015621, 21015721) shall continue to be in the premises of the current Special Inboarding School – Silmalas parish, Vecružin, Lake Street 23. This means that the same programmes that children learn in Adamowa and Tiskad special schools will be implemented in full and quality in the special primary school of Rezekne. So, Tiskad pupils will remain in existing premises, but the Adamowa pupils will be moved to Vecrujin.
We are currently planning all the actions to be taken to successfully transfer the students of the Adamova School to the place of implementation of the new educational programmes. The premises and staff, transport, boarding, library funds, etc. are considered to be necessary for training and rearing work. The Tiskādu School is part of an excellent infrastructure and we are convinced that the newly arrived pupils will not be struggling with the new school year to continue learning education in the special primary school of Rezekne.
