Sylvia Paraschinaka from Maltas – “year doctor 2017”

In a festive event on February 9, the “northern blow” in Riga was presented for the eighth year in the “Award of the Year”. As “year-of-year doctor 2017”, the family doctor Silvija Paraschinaka was summed up this year from Rēzekne Municipality Maltas, which won 1 st place among the 1053 Latvian doctors nominated for this nomination. Indeed Sylvia's patients, relatives, colleagues in their active vote (from 1 December last year to 14 January of that year) were able to prove that the doctor was worth this high award because of his high professionalism in 35 years of work and particularly the very important human nature of the medical profession.
In general, the public vote was told by almost 2417 medical professionals and 12 225 votes were received. The most powerful voters have been Latgalians, who have voted with great enthusiasm, read the website of the Latvian Medical Society. But only Gunta Romka from Balvi was received from Latgale Prize. But one of the three applicants on the prize “year dentist” was Modrte Janusevska (Daugavpils dental clinic).
The prize for “Year of the Year 2017” was presented to Silvija Paraschinakai by the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Health Janis Trupovnieks, saying that “every work of success has the recognition of people. In the health sector, 2017 has not been easy, but it has brought the hope that those who form medical policies and those who do it can work under a single flag. Dr. Sylvia was invited on stage by THE head of THE Maltas parish administration, Vitalijs ants, who said with pride that our Latvian Malta and its surroundings are proud of their doctors, and emphasized that there are few doctors like she – knowing, kindly, always smiling. On the other hand, Dr. Sylvia thanked both the people for the vote, the family for the support, and the parish administration for the help and wished everyone a strong health and said in a beautiful Latgalian language,“ Let the bolsuotuojim – a lel! ”
For the sake of clarity, it should be added that this prize was a surprise to the doctor, because she had not known all the time of the vote and had survived a real shock two weeks ago when she had been called by a doctor and told her that she was going to television. But after a solemn event and a lamp fever, she confessed that she had never dreamed of something, simply doing what she liked: I feel deeply grateful to anyone who voted for me, because the victory, and in such a huge competition, proves that i have the best patients and people. “Only positive emotions are filled with me!”
The winner of each nomination, including Dr. Sylvia, received an artist Armanda Jacob, a statue of “life blade”, which is a reminder of the unity of life and health. “Aliis insertedo consumor” (“giving light, burn”) – these basic medical ethics, the words of Hipocrats, which are the motto of the awards, also fully reflect the events of the event – every honest medical practitioner lives for all his life and thus for the sake of the future. Dr. Sylvia is, of course, one of these doctors and her award is only lawful! Once again, ON behalf of all patients, CONGRATULATIONS and PROUD!
It should be added that Silvija Paraschinaka, on 17 November 2017, with the 99 th anniversary of the Latvian State, received the main award of the municipality of Rezekne, a recognition article.

In the nomination 'annual doctor in medicine' for his teachers, the medical students and most of the votes that year won the Morphology of Riga Stradins University's anatomy and anthropology institute, Professor Dzintra Kazoka.
But in nominations “year person in medicine”, “annual hospital”, “annual event in medicine” and “annual prize for life investment in medicine”, the winners are determined by the expert judgement of the Latvian Medical Association. “Year man in medicine” – Director of State Blood Centre Egita Pole, “annual hospital” – Hospital of Jelgava City. In the awarding event, it was never mentioned that 2017 had been mild in medicine, but it was a little unusual to hear that a strike of family doctors was named as a “year of events in medicine” (as it shows the unity of doctors but also the national attitudes to the health sector...). But an emotional completely opposite feeling was when the new honorary members of the Latvian Medical Society were summed up and an annual prize for life investment in medicine was presented. Listening to and watching the experience of the experience of the experience, the feeling of pride that Latvia's medicine has strong roots that have given and gives strength and unique knowledge to the present and future doctors. Professor Georgs Jankovskis, professor of the osteoreflexotherapist (who in his 97 years is still actively playing tennis) and toracial surgery in Latvia, surgeon docent Ojārs Uldis Alexis was honoured for his life contribution. It was also emotional to provide “annual special medical treatment”, which was received by the children's palliative care association.
