On 23 January, a seminar organised by the Europe Direct Information Centre in Eastern Latgale was held at the centre for the development of watercourses, “Promoting the more efficient development of tourism companies in East Latgale, providing practical advice on how to direct their product or offer their services on the European Union market.”

The first part of the seminar dealt with theoretical questions about tourism services, their breakdown, the principles of hospitality. It was said the importance of the human factor, waiting for guests in the tourist company and explaining the possibilities of the offer. What is the material and intangible product of hospitality. The standards of cleanliness, the methods and methods of cleaning the premises and the choice and rational use of cleaners and equipment were also considered. In the second part of the seminar, a practical examination of the premises took place, presentation of cleaning works by means of the care provided in the theoretical part. The seminar was conducted very professionally by Rēzekne Technical School Anita Raudive.

The seminar was organised on the basis of one of the priorities defined by the European Commission for 2017: “growth, employment and investment”, as the improvement of competitiveness and the promotion of a successful tourism product on the European Union market are an essential condition for promoting employment and maintaining activity in rural areas.
