The Bulgarian High School “Methodey Draginov” from Draginovo village, municipality Velingrad has a hundred years of history. This is a school with unique and proven reputation. Today our school trains 518 students from 1st to 12th grade. The school has full-day organization of the learning process. We have a modern building, which uses geothermal springs for hotwater heating. The school has a team of 46 well-trained and motivated professionals who consider their work as a vocation and mission in society to educate students in love with the science. This is the reason why our students are highly graded in different competitions. They have won prizes at municipal, regional and national level.
At the same time we, students and teachers, appreciate and preserve traditions inherited from our ancestors. Draginovo village is famous for its unique traditions and it is a winner of the prize "Unique European Settlement". Our school has a merit for this. In clubs for extracurricular activities our students explore ancient customs, crafts, legends and songs. There are also reproductions; traditional household objects are made also. The motto of our school is: "We appreciate the tradition, build the present, create the future". We skillfully use modern educational technologies in teaching. It will be helpful for us to visit a similar European school, to gain experience, to exchange ideas, to learn about other cultures and people, to be part of united Europe - united in its diversity.
