Calls for a forum for Latgale people

In October 2019, Latgale association “Southern Latgale NGO Support Centre” and Latgale Planning Regions (BR), in cooperation with Latgale municipalities, organise forums for citizens in Preilos, Balvi, Ludza and Kraslava, where we are invited to apply for all those who want to see an active and strong Latgale civil society and strengthen the cooperation of Latgale non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and municipalities. We will also be waiting for people from other sources at each venue.
The Latgale population forums will be held:
October 10: Ludza cultural centre.
October 11: Balvi, a museum of the awards.
October 31: Kraslava, school street 7.
In events, several decades of change-makers, life and space development enthusiasts will gather together to make recommendations for modern Latgale in the 3-4 hours of “paper” discussions.
It is important for us to talk about problems, objectives and experience, about what has been made, the good and the mistakes. We will do this with our partners from Latgale planning region and municipalities.
The Citizens' Forum is a link where citizens assess the quality of the living environment of their neighbourhood, make decisions about the changes they wish to fill in the near future and agree on how to do so by their own forces or with the support of the institutions. As a result of the Forum, citizens will have set up concrete proposals for the implementation of ideas, but THE BR will include proposals in regional development documents.
It will be important for us to highlight the importance of a person in every case that takes place in our region – Latgale, the importance of your organization's contribution to every Community in our region. It will be important for us to emphasise that, without participation, there is no reality for the development of our region and no less important to find THE common ideas and challenges of NGOs for the development programme of the Latgale Planning Region for 2021-2027. We will do this with the knowledgeable people recognized in Latgale. That's what we're going to do!
It is our duty to recharge you for a new working day. It does not matter what organisation you represent, it is important to be together and strong, share your experience, get acquainted with and plan the development of Latgale.
Similarly, in fora, representatives OF Latgale NGOs will be invited to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation BETWEEN the Latgale Planning Region and Latgale NGOs, which aims to promote effective and public-interest regional administration activities, ensuring the involvement of civil society in decision-making processes at all levels and stages in Latgale region administration, thus contributing to the development of civil society. It is currently signed by 66 Latgale societies and foundations from 13 municipalities.
An active population and NGO representatives are invited to apply for the Forum. Participation in forums is free, but the number of places is limited.
Events take place in the framework of the association “Southern Latgale NGO Support Centre” and THE LR cultural minitia co-operation agreement “on the performance of individual public administration tasks in the field of civil society and intercultural cooperation” (No 2.5-8-17)
