On the morning of April 3, Valentin Bruzgule, director of the long-standing French Trassil Museum “Colnasate”.
Born on 7 July 1938 in the parish of Kraslava District Andzels. After graduating from primary school, he studied at Rezekne's pedagogical school and the University of Latvia's history faculty. 20 years of life have been devoted to pedagogy, working in various rural schools, but her lifelong contribution and heartbeat relate to the study of Latgale cultural history and the promotion of Trassu family and the preservation of commemoration. From 1976 to 1984 he was an inspector of the Rēzekne District and City State Heritage Protection Inspector, taking care of commemoration and restoration of architectural monuments.
An active member of the awakening time, rewarded with the 1991 barricade participant memorial mark.
As an inspector of the National Heritage Protection Inspector, he began to show interest in Franz Tradog and his home home “Colnasate”. As a result of her activities, MR Trassa's museum “Colnasate” was founded, which Valentine ran from 1994 until 2015. During his professional career he was concerned with the promotion of F. Tradog's activities, the preservation and restoration of homeland houses. Thanks to Valentine's enthusiasm and persistence, Latgale's rural cultural environment is preserved, which is available in the “Colnasat” museum AT Sakstagala parish guests and museum visitors. The work in the museum, Valentine, was a lifelong work that gave satisfaction, gave inspiration to the realization of new ideas and was the main object of concern. For 21 years she devoted to the museum, which she herself said, “Colnasate is my second home, my work and my everyday life.”
20 years ago, there was an initiator for the establishment of the folklore group “Colnasate”, then THE creation OF Sakstagala women's club “Ivea”, as well as the establishment and management of the association “all, you, Francis Trasun” with the aim of developing and developing museum infrastructure, attracting funding from EU funds.
Valentine's contribution has been noticed and assessed at national and municipal level, following the following awards:
- in 2001, the big folklore annual award;
- in 2003, a bonus of THE Ministry of Culture of LATVIA in the field of museums;
- In 2004, the silver honor of the three star Order.
- In 2011 - Lāčplēsis honorary sign of outstanding contribution to the restoration of Latvia's independence, permanent, excellent work in Latvia, Latgale pedagogy system, activities in the identification of Latgale cultural and historical monuments, patriotic work in the development of young people, a comprehensive achievement in the collection of historic, ethnographic materials of Latgale municipality.
- On 18 November 2015 - the commemoration of the municipality of Rezekne on the contribution of professional, fair and creative work to the nomination “culture”.
For us, museums, MR Trassun's guards, Valentin will always be an example of what the fan should be, how to treat his duties.
The museum family, Valentine Bruzguli, knew and always kept in deep dignity as a self-confident, energetic, persistent, knowledgeable, honest and responsive leader, colleague, and a man with a strong spirit of latgalic patriotism.
It is noticeable that Valentin will be lying in the grave of Rēzekne's Peace Street in the Land of Rēzekne, the place of the Brun-Gulf, who is opposite the great place of the great-chief, F. Tradog's grave.
