It is prohibited to swimming in a cardholder's village pond

In June, July and August, the municipality of Rezekne conducts monitoring of bathing waters in public water bodies and local government properties.

The bathing sites in Luban Lake (Gaigalavas parish area) and Razna Lake (Lipušku village at the school) are included in the list of bathing sites to be monitored by the State budget.
Physico-chemical and microbiological examinations were performed as well as visual observations of each bathing site.
According to the microbiological indicators of the monitoring of bathing water quality and the results of visual inspection, in the cardholder's village pond (c. Ratnieki, Čornajas civil parish) - the bloom of blue algae and other phytoplankton algae was detected, so it is prohibited to swim and the other bathing areas mentioned above are allowed to swim.
In 2018, the municipality of Rezekne has concluded a contract with SIA “prophylactic hygiene service laboratory” for the performance of the bathing water quality monitoring.
