With the memorial event “Aizkraukie.” Unforgotten. 'will mention the deportations of 25 March 1949
On 25 March of that year at 11.00, at the same time in all regions and cities of Latvia, as well as elsewhere in the world, will mention the 74 th anniversary of the deportations of 25 March 1949, when 42 300 Latvian people were deported to Russia.
During commemorative events, 43 municipalities will read the words sent, their age and place of residence, reading at 11.00 will be entered by President Egil Levita.
For live broadcasts from 43 municipalities, they will be able to follow up to the Latvian public media portal LSM.lv and on the website of the National Library of Latvia LNB.lvas well as in the digital map drawn up specifically for the memorial event deportetie.kartes.lv.
The map has been drawn up by “Jānis Fields” on the basis of the list of Latvian residents created by the Latvian national archives and the historical addresses indicated therein.
When you open a card on the deportetie.kartes.lv side of the page, you can find two sections, or buttons - “Deported population”by activating the number and lists of deportees, and the“Memorial events'– links to municipal live broadcasts.
In the “deportees” section, when you select “25 March 1949” by pushing the cursor on the selected location, you can zoom in the map so close that you see a specific address, house, or sit. When you press on a circle, you can see a list of the people you have left – their name, surname, and age.
On the other hand, “Memorial eventsin circles, there are places marked on 25 March of that year at 11.00 lasījumi of the names of the deported people will be held online.
