A number of commemorative events honoured in Anchupan tragedy
On 4 January, a number of reflections took place in Audiros, Anchupan memorial and the city of Rezekne, during which the tragic events of 1942, when the Nazis burned THE Rēzekne District Audriņu, had been mentioned by the Nazis in the woods of Rēzekne, and 30 Audriņu men were killed in the Rēzekne prison.
The people who had met in the event were aware that over the years of the memorial events of January 4, there had been a wide range of weather conditions – more than minus 20 degrees of frost, a terrible wind, and a thaw, but as the visitors acknowledged, the snowberry of the day was the most appropriate moment of commemoration, as the snowflap that beaten in the face, and the blood of the asynchronous carnation, reminded the most of the events of the 73-year-old, when the naked Anchupan forest was covered in the blood of the babies.
The Minister of Defence Raimonds Vejonis also confirmed his presence in the memorial event with his presence. When they spoke, the Minister emphasized that the totalitarian regime, the hatred of hatred, the propaganda and the lies, were able to make people a beast: “those who made these ruthless blood works than otherwise than beasts can be called.” We must learn from the past and honour our freedom and independence so that such sad moments can no longer be repeated on our national history pages. 'On the other hand, the President OF the Rēzekne District Council, Monvīds Švarcs, called for a remembering of history and mentioning the people who fallen in war: “It is our duty to ensure that those whose lives are lost because of the war are not forgotten. They have died unearned and innocent because there is no meaningful death in the war.' The chairman of the county council, on behalf of the local government, also promised to keep the commemoration of the victims alive and honourable, so that people could be gathered in the future, and in silence, the heads of the dead, and reminding themselves of the destruction of the war.
