The Rural Support Service's Eastern Latgale Regional Agricultural Administration has approved the project application “Establishment of an outdoor dance gap at Maltas cultural house” (No. 19-01-AL15-a019 .2201-000008), which was submitted to THE EAFRD Latvian Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 “implementation of the activities under the community-led local development strategy”. The project competition was announced by the association “Rēzekne District Communities Partnership”.
THE Maltas cultural house has been working for more than 60 years. At all seasons, various events take place in both the cultural house and outside, the park area. One of the components of such outdoor events is a concert during which the performance of various collective speeches takes place. Currently, artists are forced to play on an uneven lawn, endangering their health and safety, as well as providing a less quality performance. Improved infrastructure – a stable, flat and durable dance floor will ensure safe performance not only for dance collectors, but will also allow the broadening of the range of cultural outdoor events to be offered, inviting other genre artists - music, theatre, circus, pantomyms, screening of dolls or shadow games.
It is planned to install a dance gap (9.7 x 9.7 m) within the project and install 4 long wooden benches.
The eligible costs of the project are EUR 8 158,06 of which public funding is EUR 7342,25. Co-financing OF EUR 815,81 will be provided by the municipality.
