Plant photo contest for pupils in “close-up”

The Latvian Plant Breeders' Association invites Latvian school students to participate in the photo contest “natural close-up” and to send photographs or photographs of their own plants by this year. 31 July. The best work author will receive a prize - a digital camera for the creation of his next works.
When you rest from learning, we invite students in classes 1-12 to look more closely, detect and document fine and unique parts in the plant world. The best close-up designer will be rewarded with a digital camera, while the other best work authors in the prize will receive “gardening sets”.
Andrejs Vītoliņš, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Latvian Plant Breeders: “nature is an infinite art work, but not always we can and want to see all the fine details. It is a special skill and a special talent. The purpose of this competition is to discover new talent in the field of natural photography, encourage pupils to learn to distinguish and recognise different plants, and to encourage pupils to see these small things that allow the world to be seen from a completely different perspective.”
When you take your plant photos, we recommend that students take into account:
• The most beautiful photos can only result in patience, not every picture taken will be the best, and it is worth taking a spare photo, maybe it will be a better quality.
• The beauty of nature is best placed on a light day so that the picture is better visible.
• Before taking a photo, you can experiment with how to better take photos with the camera you have available.
Reminding students – be creative and not afraid to take pictures everywhere – never know which company can turn out to be irreproducible and win this competition!
The invitation to tender shall be sent by e-mail by 31 July: a skolenu.konkurss@darznica.lv entitled “plant photo contest”. The winners of the photo competition will be determined by the jury rating, as well as the internet vote. After the expiration of the work, the jobs will be placed on the Draugiem.lv page of the portal (http://www.draugiem.lv/darznica/) where every visitor of the page will be able to vote for the best photographs. The best work author will receive the main prize - the digital camera, the authors of the other best works will receive “gardening sets”.
