On 18 June, approximately 6000 natural and musical friends had arrived at the Rēzekne Municipality Lūznavas manor, where the first of the two natural concert products planned for this year passed. This time, the main hero of the concert hall was Garausan auritus, who was also devoted to both the creative and educational workshops and the musical story at the end of the evening.

This is the eleventh year of the nature concert hall. As the author Sylvia Nora Kalnins said, this project is an unusual way to increase people's awareness and explain the law on developments in nature around us. At the same time, the natural concert hall is Latvia's pride, as well as internationally, as the project won the European Commission'S NATURA 2000 award this year.

An important part of the natural concert hall is the attractive, creative and knowledgeable workshops and laboratories. This year, the Nature Protection Board organized 23 workshops where visitors could make a bat home – a cage, recognize and familiarise bats, their menus, the life cycle, build their own bats using a constructor, and listen and recognize bats according to the sounds they have issued.

Scientific support is given this year by Latvian universities and Latvian Agricultural University bats experts, LU researcher, Dr. biol. Viesturs Wintulis, and associate professor, Dr. biol. Gunar Peterson. As the researchers said, bats are the only mammals adapted to fly. More than 1200 species of bats have been found in Latvia, including six of them in Lūznavas Manor and Park. At the end of May, researchers in Lūznavas manor attic counted 22 pigmejats and 113 pond nightmares: “This type of bats species is very pleasant and also surprising as the bats of rare and susceptible species have been harvested within a very short period of time after the change of the roof. There are only less than 20 colonies in Latvia, although this species has been specifically investigated because of its special protection status (the species of Annex II of the habitat Directive). The number of pond nights in Lūznavas manor is significantly large – it is twice the average number in known Latvian colonies. The number of colonies known to the pigeon is even smaller," said Viesturs Wintulis. In addition, as there are only bats with children in the attic of the manor, the bats are in the park's park, the total number of colonies is even higher. “Each bat mum has one to two babies.” At the moment, the new bats depend on Momma's rusty food, but in about two weeks the small bats will begin to fly, so they will be able to go after a meal – those who fail at the nature concert hall can go to Lūznavas at the beginning of July and watch that about half an hour after the sunset, Momma and the babies fly off the roof of the manor and go hunting in the night park, ”the researchers say.

The scientific presence and symbiosis with art are distinguished by nature concerts from other events, but there is no music here. As regards the musical presentation of this year's concert hall, Andris Sējāns emphasizes that this time the story is first: “in the mythology of different peoples and in literary works, the bats are often attributed to demonishing powers and relation to the dark forces, but, as we know, most of us are afraid of what we do not know. In order to better know and understand the bats, we created audio titles that accurately represent the life and philosophical tasks of the bats, starting with the“ X ”or the unknown source, continuing with the echoation, or the fact that the bats are seen with ears in music and concluding with THE“ XY ”theme, or if“ X ”is a bats, then“ Y ”is a man who, during the entire concert, has tried to get to know the bats so far, that he is already willing to become such. The concert combined both emotional and rational and various music styles, including ultramodern electronic music and piano music written in the academic style.“ The author usually writes, exiting himself, from his emotional experiences, ”said one of the music authors, Ingus Ulmanis,“ but this time we don't speak about our feelings, our love, we write about a particular hero. We are exposed to this hero, our personal feelings on the edge. '

While the feeling of the bats was described in music, the scenographic Didzis Jaunlow had, for a third year, adopted a challenge in the visual form of the nature concert. The task is not easy, because the stage must be built in a place where it never has been, and a common visual image must be created, including video projections and lights. As the scenographs said, looking for the best deal, unslept nights, and again and again drawing sketches, until the unconventional and visually impressive idea of creating a cloud of 6000 paper bats on the musicians. “We didn't expect the storm to be a storm the day before, so the bats became active and some even flew,” he says.

The event was also attended by El Patron – President Raimonds Vejonis. After the event, the president admitted that the concert had moved him and thrilled: “the concert was told about the bats' mission to live between the darkness and the light between two worlds and protect them. I also had this boundary between two worlds, so the concert seemed emotionally close and very well understood. '

“Natural concert hall and Lūznavas manor traffic is very special,” “discovered Lūznavas manor manager Iveta Balzer.“ Bats is not only a hero of a natural concert hall, but it will also be one of the symbols of the estate. We have given a word - if Lūznavas Manor is a monk where artists can draw inspiration to their creative expressions, then the bat who lives in the manor's attic will be Musis – the environmental and natural symbol OF Lūznavas manor, whose story we will certainly continue to develop. ”

The organisers of the natural concert hall express gratitude TO THE people of Lūznavas parish for understanding and welcome. It must be said that the visitors of the concert hall themselves, who have left the event to be cleaned and clean from the waste, deserve gratitude.

The second concert hall of that year will take place on July 1 at the Jelgava municipality in Zalenieku Manor Park.
