Excursion to Riga Motormuseum

On February 12, THE project “Support for the Development of Individual Competencies” of Maltas Secondary Schools went to a study visit to Riga Motormuseum.
The Motormuseum building immediately attracted attention because it had an unusual external architecture. As he went into the museum, he could not see the modern, modern room with unusual light effects. We learned that the museum was founded in 1989 but was fully restored in 2016.
The pupils surveyed the modern exhibition, which contained more than 100 different cars – both ancient machinery from around the world, both the pre-war Retro machine and the vehicles produced in Latvia. The guide was exciting and interactive, because at the time of viewing the cars, the pupils could not only look at the car, but also work on various stalls, games that were arranged in the exhibition hall.
During the museum visit, students also participated in a technically creative workshop “from filament lamp to electric car”. The pupils listened to information about the invention and development of electricity, then worked in groups. The tasks were interesting - from the lemon to get electricity (many also succeeded); to feel the world-famous inventor in Edison's role and make an electric bulb (it was practically all). A study visit to Motormuseum and creative workshops gave students the opportunity to develop their skills in THE FIELD OF STEM.
