Erna Ulase - Queen of the Book of Books
If anyone IN Feimaņu parish question, which is the Queen of our parish books, then anyone would know that it was the librarian Erna Ulase. On October 17, she celebrated her life anniversary and a 40-year-old anniversary on November 1.
Erna was born IN Feimaņu parish Nikitiškos in the family of three children as the younger daughter. Her parents, Wanda and Polycarp, chose a short but scandalous name Erna. The girl spent her childhood in the fields, playing and working with her older sister, Zinaid and brother Romuald. The school started and completed Feimaņu at elementary school, then went on to educate Maltas at the 1 st High School. After the school was completed, the young girl was invited to work in the library. She agreed, and in the following year she was in a non-face-to-face technicality of Riga cultural workers. It was not easy to combine work and training, but it was possible to overcome all the difficulties with the desperate and strong willingness. It started at a young age of Feimaņu in a library that was already 40 years long.
In our parish, everyone knows and respects the leader Ernu Ulasi, who is always smiling, helpful and eruded. In her book of books she is a real professional, she will always find the necessary literature, suggest the latest fiction or press expenses, and even bring the required books from other parish libraries. The kingdom of books is visited by both young mothers to select photos or fairy books for their babies and students who have to read the recommended literature and students at school, as well as all other parish residents. Erna looks forward to every visitor of the library, listens to their wishes, provides useful tips. Often people arrive in a library, simply to “shake your heart”, talk about the problems of life, laugh at different kinds of life. Children and young people are also happy to go to a library to play computer games to watch a cartoon film or look at the latest children's books. He can be admired not only as a masters of his office, but also as a man who is able to accept anyone and, along with the book he has searched or recommended, brings his heart and faith to the good.
In his 40 years of work, the librarian has held countless events for both children and adult book readers. She has a talent to involve herself in library events and activities in various generations. The work with children is her heart. In order to promote their reading skills and interest in the book, THE Feimaņu parish library has been involved for several years in the “children, youth and parental jury” programme, which is intended to read and evaluate the books recommended for each age group. The most active book readers are organised excursions and participate in the final event at the Latvian National Library.
Erna Ulase takes many events directly to pupils. In November, the Nordic literature reading is usually held to get more acquainted with the literature and culture of these countries. Pre-grades are entered in the world of books in the “Eu – Library User” event, as well as they have the opportunity to watch different multimedia movies. Students are introduced to poets and writers who have anniversaries.
With various thematic events, the librarian always tries to invite interesting guests. The poets, the counselor Irina Šeyevska, Margarita Krolle, the author of the book “Mоя Латгалия”, the opening festival of Janina Astahovsk (Nickulain), took place in the poetry events. An interesting meeting was the journalists of the newspaper “Rezekne Ambassador”, the actress Olga Meirani, the newspaper “local” journalists Skaidritis Swikes, the creative team of the magazine “A-12”, with the photographer Igor Pliči. After this meeting AT Feimaņu, he was able to look at his personal exhibition. As THE parish OF Feimaņu is closely related to famous ceramics, the librarian also organized an interesting, famous event, dedicated to the ceramic Andrey Paulani, who took part in the history of the museum of history and applied art Texas Bekeš from Preiļi, who emphasized the great contribution of Paulani to the development of ceramics. By creating the photo album “Latvia - 100”, in collaboration with Peter apini, Erna Ulase invited the parish residents to look into their family archives and describe the historical events shown in the photos. These photos were then sent for evaluation and the most interesting included in the photo album “Latvia -100”.
Our librarian is creative and energetic. She always accurately plans for the events to be interesting and diverse – creative workshops, masters, exhibitions, good advice hours – “how to grow and clean tomatoes” in the experience of the long-standing tomato grower Jadviga Okuņevica from Maltas, “what is yoga?” was led by Inese Drele and others. This year there was an interesting meeting with the handman, the founder of “Latgale ethnography embassy” and manager Ivetu Seimanova, whose hobbies are the research and production of people.
Erna Ulase is a real parish, a patriote and a storyholder of history, because the archives of the library contain many historical material for both Feimaņu Catholic Church, and the parish priests of the year. Along with Sylvia Assari, an event was held in “History pages of post-war colhoes and sovhozu.” The event was collected in Sylvia Assare Rēzekne zonal state archive. The memory chamber was helped by Janis Otikov and Zinaid Persa. Under the direction of Ulase Ulases, we also organized guided excursions “know your parish!” The librarian acknowledges that the memories form our common history and are an integral part of our lives.
No work is too difficult for the Queen of our books – in 2014, Rēzekne and Viļānu are organised 13. Festival festival Feathers, May 4 – Festival of white tablecloth with interesting guests, book authors, etc. You can't remember how many nice events Erna has done for our parish readers. Her work was welcomed by both readers and representatives of Latvian librarian society, giving her the highest recognition of the library sector – “light carrier – 2016”.
Erna Ulase has also acted in good faith for many years as President of the Commission. She has inherited the dignity and love of many colleagues and parish people for their intolerable work, a conscious attitude toward work. At home, Erna is a good and skilled housewife, my dear mother's daughters Inta and Karin, a more lover grandmother for her 6 grandchildren.
Today, our anniversary and the Queen of the Book of Books are very much thanked for what she has put on each of us, every time i recommend the real book. Let her never forget the sources of ideas and always be pleased to do a good job!
