The International folklore festival “Baltica 2022” has been concluded. It has been 35 years since the festival “Baltica”. The ethnographic ensemble “Rikava” is a story of every festival “Baltica” in Latvia – from first to 1988, when the festival “Baltica 2022” was celebrated in Latvia from 6 to 10 July. It was a long-awaited reflection and a joy, because the festival's theme was a “game” this year. With the motto “Come with me, more than 250 folklore sets and ethnographic ensembles from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvian diaspora participants met in various concerts, events and activities in Alsunga, Dundaga, Inciema, Inčukalns, Judah, Krimulda, Kuldīga, Lēdura, Mālpils, Poppy, Riga, Sigulda, Skrunda, Talsi, Turaida and Ventspils.

On July 7, on the way to Dina Mountain Turaida, the participants of the international folklore festival “Baltica” came to one of Sigulda District sites to play songs, words and works. The Etnographic ensemble “Rikava” in Mālpils sang and listened with the fossil cops Krustpils “rati”, Mālpils “Mālis”, suiti wives, suiti men, suiti dwater, Vilaka “Abrenīte”, Vilaka “Atzele” and the chapel “Atzele” and guests from Estonia. In the course of the festival, our songs were shown in local businessmen's plants and in the sun-gate hill we took part in the sun-honing ritual. At the evening of the Turaida Museum Reserve, it was time for the opening concert of the international folklore festival “Baltica” to play such a dinner.

The Etnographic ensemble “Rikava” to the festival led to the ethnographic performance “Cellet jaunys ustobys”, which brought their viewers to the Latvian Etnographic Museum of Freedom on July 9, where all Latvian provinces met – the show's culinary heritage show, concerts, folklore set dates. In this date we got new friends – the folklore group “forest bell” from Jerusalem.

As always, the support provided by the municipality of Rezekne and THE parish government OF Rikavas was important for us to feel good and full of strength. Our BIG THANKS for that. Thank each of our collective participants for their time, work and excellent performance.

“Baltica” is a platform where the tradition of the tradition is complete – both singing, musical and dancing, and the most important – to meet each other. The main thing is that we find time to be together and enjoy. It is also my wish to all the participants in Baltica 2022. You must leave the festival richer to be shared with a live, legacy tradition. '

The wish is filled. By sharing with others we have become richer.
