The Latvian Association of Guernsey gave children from the Three children's house
On 5 January, representatives of the Latvian Association of Guernsey, Sylvia and Arthur bribes, were visited in the children's house, in order to bring the children of Guernsey's charity to the children of Guernsey - skates, lecails, as well as basketball, volleyball and football ball.
This is the third time the children of Tiskad receive gifts from the United Kingdom, Guernsey. Mutual friendship started during Christmas Day 2015, when a charitable stock “fill a shoe box for Latvian children” was organised at the small Guernsey Island. Both English-speaking residents of the island and Latvians who are the second most widely represented nation in the Guernsey Island were involved in the promotion organised by the Latvian Association of Guernsey. In the summer of 2016, the besty tradition continued, and more than 30 residents of Tiskad's house were once more interesting, beautiful and practical gifts. The donated money was still over, so the gifts now also added sporting goods that would be particularly useful for active children.
“It is sad for us if someone says or thinks that they don't care about what is happening in Latvia and how our people live,” said Silvija Kukule, co-ordinator of the charity. “We're very concerned.” Therefore, the association sought to help and decided that the most support is needed specifically for children who do not grow up in families: “the main thing is to increase the goodness, because the good always returns,” says Arthur Coukuļs. “Children have to teach tolerance, affection, mercy.” The more we put the child in the future, the more it will come back. For example, the English lady, who had spent her childhood in a nursery, donated more than 200 EUROS in charity, ”said Arthur Coukuļs.“ Of course it is the most important thing for children to grow up in the family, with parents, brothers and sisters or grandparents, or parents, but if there is no such opportunity, we can help children at least in this way, ”says Sylvia and Arthur, who are the grandparents of three wonderful granddaughters for Selena, Anne and Olivia.
The Latvian Association of Guernsey expresses gratitude to all the responsive people in both Guernsey and Latvia. “Special thanks to the group“ white bears ”, who played for free at both the Guernsey charity party and the shared charitable lunch where the donated funds could be used for the purchase of sports goods. 'White bears' men are great artists and very good people! 'said Arthur Coukui.
Although he has been living in the Guernsey Island for years, the bribe family is a real Latvian patriot who says that the heart is always and will be in Latvia. Both originate from Latgale – Sylvia from Nautrēnu parish Rogovka, but Arthur from Ludza. The family currently works at a small 25-room hotel in Guernsey. Sylvia is a hotel housekeeper, while Arthur is a gardener and plumber. The family of all free time is devoted to volunteering in the Latvian Association of Guernsey. “The association has been working for ten years as a charitable organization. We intend to meet together in January to agree on future charity projects. In addition to this year, we will continue to carry out the stock“ fill the shoe box for Latvian children ”, but we have also planned other charities, because we can give gifts and do good jobs not only in Christmas, but throughout the year!” notes Arthur Coukuļs, who is the Vice-President of the Association of the Association.
In addition to charitable shares, Latvian association also carries out other good works, such as in the United Kingdom there is no rooted tradition of talent, as is the case in Latvia, the Latvian Association of Guernsey has planned to organise his talc to clean up the local beach.
