Painted Alūksne
In a sunny and warm morning of May, THE 7 th-9 th grade school students, using a great opportunity of the “Latvian School Finish” project, visited the Alūksne Museum, the Manor Park and the nature museum “environmental labyrinth”. In the framework of the educational programme of the Broadcasting Museum, students were given information regarding the development of the city and municipality of Alūksne in a variety of age sections, regarding cultural heritage. To make sure the listeners were careful, the museum's guide held a small quiz. The pupils responded precisely to all the questions asked. The museum exhibition examined archaeological extracts. After viewing the exhibition, the children themselves tried to create the ancient clay products using combed fingerprint techniques. The exciting stories continued in the area of the Manor Park, where we saw both restored and original architectural monuments. The painted manor park was constructed so that the manors in the park area from any bench to which they would sit, could see a beautiful landscape in the direction of Lake Alūksne.
The exciting process continued in the Alūksne Nature Museum “environmental labyrinth”, where pupils surveyed a large collection of birds, insects, snails, butterflies, rocks and minerals. The interactive stands allowed them to listen to the bird songs, to meet the fortune of the subterranean depths. The interesting collection of collector narrative was a real interest in pupils.
What you hear and see is a great benefit in history, biology, geography, visual art, mathematics, natural sciences. Mutual communication skills are a social benefit.
The painted Alūksne, we are delighted!
