In Memorandum. Maltas honorary citizen Donat Kondrov (22.07.1932 –16.03 .2023)
It's over time for another man's last damn party with life... This time it is an excellent parish of Maltas, who IN THE history OF Maltas, the word “checbrete” has been recorded in gold letters, but has also left many other things that will remain in the memories of friends, colleagues, pupils, fellow people.
When I searched for goodbye, i turned on audio recordings from the visit to the Kondrov family home. It is a journalist's advantage, a special feeling that deepenes emotions – to hear the voice of a man when he is already in another sun. 'Yes, the classmates Clara and Donat added each other, so there are associations with two closely adjacent trees. They were rocked by a lot of living winds, but they stayed close to the wedding day in 1958 to a respectable age, proving that every life was a checker and a lot of games...
When Mrs. Clara went out four years ago, the tree was losing part of herself. He could not feel it, although he continued to live, sing, be socially active. A bright memory stayed in an August afternoon square at a horse-mail station IN Maltā. He sat on a bench with flowers in his arms. I came up, congratulated him, and learned that he was on his way to the cemetery. “These flowers for my Clare,” he said. Nothing could be said, not then, not now. No matter how much he had in his life, but Mrs Clara was the biggest “prize”, the feeling of his houses.
Now they meet again, and it is a beautiful sound for one shared story and the rich lives of two separate people! God forgive us that we would have learned from these teachers and would be able to play their battle of life as long, filled, full of blood and faith in the heart.
More recently, when the historical photographs were taken, the checkers or chess tables, the tournaments, and the Donate as a participant, the valuer, the organiser, appeared every time. It is a fulfillment not to be expressed in words... He had survived both the professions of the teacher and these sports so deeply that he was willing to believe. That's why i add a picture to these guys, which features him brightly – a strong personality, a teacher, a knowledgeable, demanding, but at the same time with a humor spark in his eyes. That's what he'll be in our memory...
To justify you, Master, respectful opponents, and as a companion as ever in a chess. And welcome to Mrs. Clara...

Donat Kondrov – Maltas honorary citizen, teacher (taught mathematics, physics, astronomy), long-term president of the checker club “Malta”, coach, active member of the People's Front, always actively participated in the choir movement, was also a member of Senior Cora “Sevenkalne”.
Mr Donate always said in an interview with a smile that he had the most beautiful name in Latgale (so called both grandfather and both of them). I would certainly like to mention the fact that, in a conversation with him, i first learned that Maltai had been a millionaire - Jew Ruvin Vainstok. Born in Silaiana parish, Dooba, where the famous ceramic family. Childhood had passed on the banks of the Lake Chernoste. The primary school of the swamp was completed in 1947, THE 1 st high school of Maltas was still in Rozentova. The mathematics teacher's speciality was chosen by the teacher Meurane (who had also been playing the chess, even the “Ziedukalna Cup”). By 1954 he was studying at the Latvian national educational institute. When he started his studies at Livani High School 1, he was taken from there (3 years). Then he worked at the Druvan elementary school in Vainov, then at the Ziedukalns school in Verdesh, where he was also a Deputy Director. THE PRIMARY school OF Pušas worked five years, but for the longest PERIOD OF Maltas in the 1 st secondary school, 20 years. He was also a teacher in Ozolaine for a year and a half.
In parallel, there was a myriad checker, a chess tournament, the success of students. The checkers and chess games drifted and maintained the mind of the tone mathematician, and they were also the ones who shared their members and other malignants. Mr Donata said that “a public chess club and Maltas team won 1 st place with the right to represent Latgali in the Latvian team tournament. The district management refused the financing of our team, so we decided to design and engage with another sport. It was a checker in Maltā. With my participation, the Latvian School Fambread team stayed in the first decade at the Sandoukalna and Pušas primary school checkers. Maltas High School started playing international and Polish-Brazilian checkers (until then we met a Russian checker variant). In 1994, a checker club“ Malta ”was officially formed, which is still the oldest checker club in Latvia.
All these facts are already history, but the story of Mr Donata and the printed page in the checker story is continued by his student. A respectable lot of life, a beautiful fulfillment with results that go with eternity...
