Implementation of the project “Safeguarding the Community prayer of the People's Old Believers”

Co-financed project No. of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development for Rural Development of Pudereva with the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development 2014-2020 “Support FOR local development of LEADER (community-led local development strategy)” sub-measure “implementation of actions under the community-led local development strategy” No 17-01-AL15-a019 .2201-000017 has carried out the prayer works of the Old Believers of Puderova.
The gods of the Old Believers of the Puerto Believers are well maintained and have regular service. However, the building had not been repaired since 1937. It was time to rebuild the water drains, repair windows, paint the faded facade and replace many of the broken wooden parts. Church ovens were not heated.
The works at the church began early in spring 2018. Damaged window frames were highlighted and removed to the restoration workshop. The exact copy of the windows produced by the sample was placed back in the facade after it was painted.
As soon as the weather allowed, the restorers came to the front of the church. It was carefully cleaned from the old Soviet-time oil-colored layers that had already begun to peel. When all the colours covered in the 90 s were removed, the faults of the facade were discovered. I had to change the bottom planks. In general, most facade boards were in good condition even after 90 years of use, so they were decided to leave. The cleaned facade was painted again in two carts with linoleum-alkid colour, which was recommended by architect Dace Lukševica, author of the church renewal project. After installation of water drains, the reconstituted facade is ready to serve for at least 100 years.
The two large round metal furnaces were replaced in the indoors and the chimneys to the attic. A concrete border was built along the wall of the church so that the rain and snow water would not override the church's territory, as well as the planting and sorting of the area around the church. Church towers and all the tin parts were painted with rust-resistant colour.
With the repair of the church fence, it was found that most of the old concrete posts had been explored and no longer used. To be included in the limited repair budget, a new panel fence was offered to the girlfriend. This proposal was supported. Now there is a new fence around the church, where the churches will be the hedgehog. On the other hand, the great honorary gates of the house were built new after the previous gates. The small entrance gate remained intact. All of the restoration works were performed BY SIA “SPERO SEE”, which is the third renovated building. The work and attention of the builders were marked by all the members of the parish who visited the church during repair. In the course of the work, the staff of the parish communal service (Vitold Vabaļs, Staņislavs Gražuļs, Arthur Melan, Nikolai Volnuhin) took part in the discussion of the solutions, while the parish residents and employees of paid jobs gathered the church area and helped prepare a sip for winter. Thus, the repair works of the prayer house were a joint work of the Bovine Old Believers' parish.
The work was concluded by a security firm “LDMC”, who installed a security alarm in the building. A fire (smoke) alarm was also added, which makes the building safer.
A regular service is already in place at the restored prayer house. Following the words of the President of the Council, Fadia Lukiano, the new ovens are very well warmed and the church is home.
The aim of the project is to restore a significant local architectural monument to parish, to promote the preservation of public and religious traditions important to the people of Audriņu parish, to support the local Old Believers' Community. THE majority of THE parish population OF Audriņu is the Old Believers.
The Old Believers' Community has been one of the oldest and largest Rēzekne provinces. The various documents refer to the different times of its constitution, but it may have happened in 1719. Documentary evidence of the existence of the church remained from 1826. The Community's Old Believers' Community is officially registered only in 1920. During the period from 1922-1937, the new god, which remained until today, was built. It is unusual that the new building was built around the old so that the service took place throughout the construction period. The timber was produced by Stabrovka's resident Astraton Katzchenkov, but the construction works were carried out by Ivan Astratov with his sons from McKashan parish, Mazinovka village. When the new god was finished, the old man came out of the logs. In 1939, a bell produced in Liepaja 20.gs factory is installed. At the end of the 40 s, the Soviet authorities had decided to install the church in the church, but this decision did not succeed. (facts from Vladimir Nikonova's Староверие Латгалии, 2008).
The restoration of the prayer house was possible thanks to the financial support of THE EAFRD programme LEADER. The total budget of the project is 29975.11 EURO (with VAT), including EU funding OF 90% or 26977.60 EURO, co-financing - EUR 2997.51, which will be provided from the municipal budget of the municipality of Rezekne Audriņu.
