Open competition for the prevention of various forms of discrimination in society and the promotion of Roma integration

Open competition priorities
Invitation to tender to provide support for the development of transnational or national (including regional or local) projects for the prevention of various forms of discrimination in society (discrimination on grounds of sex, ethnic origin, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation and other grounds referred to in Article 21 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union)[1]).
Project applicants should focus on ensuring that project results can also be used in other European Union (EU) Member States (EU added value). Project applications should describe how the content of projects is consistent with the existing EU policies on anti-discrimination and Roma integration.[2]
1. Prevention of various forms of discrimination in society:
1.1. to create, develop or monitor national, regional or local policies aimed at promoting equality in workplaces and/or society as a whole, as well as combating various forms of discrimination;
1.2. to promote “racial equality” in the Directive[3] and “the Directive on equal treatment of employment”[4]compliance with the principles of anti-discrimination;
1.3. to inform the groups of society involved in the prevention of discrimination and discrimination (stakeholders) regarding THE EU, national and, if applicable, regional and local level legislation and political/administrative measures to prevent discrimination;
1.4. to inform citizens about their rights in contact with discrimination.
2. Integration of Roma representatives
Integration of Roma representatives by promoting the national Roma integration strategy and the Council of Europe recommendation on effective Roma integration measures in the Member States[5] implementation.
Within the framework of this competition not accepted submissions from national Roma contact points. A separate competition will be launched to support national Roma contact points.
Activities to be supported within the framework of the open competition:
- collection, compilation and survey of data;
- scientific research etc. for the prevention of discrimination of scientific activity;
- monitoring of the implementation of anti-discrimination legislation (monitoring);
- training of professionals;
- bilateral/multilateral training, exchange of good practice, cooperation, including the identification of effective practices in other programmes in the Member States;
- dissemination of information and promotion of public awareness (including local level) such as seminars, conferences, information campaigns or activities in social media and printed press.
NB!
- Within the framework of the competition, a participant may submit applications for the implementation of several projects (i.e. one participant may implement different projects within the scope of one tender). Consequently, a member may be awarded a number of grants for the implementation of various different projects.
- A legal person may participate in a project as a main project implementer, partner or associate partner.
- The initial estimated duration of the project is 2 years (24 months).
- In the framework of the competition, contributions in kind FOR the provision of CO-financing OF 20% are not permitted.
- The implementation of projects may not be initiated before the submission of the project application.
