“Rēzekne” is coming up for the twentieth year.
On 15 September, a festival of the opening of “Rezekne” was held in the municipality of Rezekne, which, as usual, gathered several dozens of poets and a reader. This year, the almanac comes out for the twentieth time, and as the long-time almanac writer Olga Orsa said, the almanac is becoming richer: “20 years ago, there were 19 authors in the stock, we can be proud of more than 80 author poetry this year. I'm glad of those who write to us from the beginning, but more joy than our new poets, because it means that the almanac has a future and will certainly be 21 st and 22.kr. '
Traditionally, the first name was given to those who were published in almanac for the first time, following traditions, were summed up by the celebrated authors of this year.
The almanac is a poet that comes from both the parish of Rezekne municipality, the city of Rezekne and the surrounding areas. It is important that many authors in the almanac had a start for their own books, but the former hostess, Rasma Urtane, has been issuing another collection of poetry “Zemgale Germans” for several years.
In an almanac organizer, Latvian poet Livija Liepdruviete said that Rezekne poets participate in international poetry events, organize meetings and events, as well as receive guests from other Latvian provinces.
For Almanac's “aunts” Olga Orsai and Livia Lieppier, this year was helped by poet Janina Dukule, who emphasized that the authors of the almanach were those who wanted to write: “we are interested in different themes, we write about love, nature, politics - each of what on the heart.” Thank all the authors, we grow and learn together! '.
The outcome of the poetry stock has traditionally been financially supported by the Rēzekne municipality council, the city council of Rezekne and A/S “Rēzekne bus parks”.
In assessing the contribution of Almanaha, Olga Orsa, and celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the edition, the Vice-President of the Rēzekne council, Elhusband Pizāne, gave a statement of appreciation. As usual, the almanac was received by authors, guests of the event, as Rēzekne municipality and city libraries.
