The new season of the competition “eruditis” in Rezekne municipality starts with the victory of THE Dricānu secondary school team

On December 3, the new season of the knowledge game “eruditis” was launched in the municipality of Rezekne. In this school year, ten Rēzekne municipality and Viļānu are led by pupils' teams to seek answers to questions about and around sport. Today, the first of five games was about sports events in Latgale, local sports clubs and the success of Latgale athletes. The pupils had to know that the first volleyball game in Latvia's history took place in Rezekne, that Daugavpils Kuzmins had participated in nine Olympic Games and that the 2012 Latvian Football Championship was “Latgola” from Ludza. Similarly, students had to recognize photographs of athletes coming from Latgale. During the competition, teams had the opportunity to check not only their theoretical knowledge of sport, but also the practical skills of sending the ball into improvised gates with the florball club. In this test, four precise litters won a Dricānu secondary school team.

In the first round, Dricānu high school students were recognised in the first round with 18 points for the most eruded team. 2 nd place with 17 points ranked AT Nautrēnu High School I team, while in 3 rd place with 16,5 points – Nautrēnu High School II team.

The next round of the competition will be held on 22 January. It will examine pupils' knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It should be noted that in spring 2014, a total of five contest cards will be cleared by the Rēzekne and Viļānu novadu team. The best will receive a gift card worth 300 lats for travel to their own destination. Traditionally after the end of the competition, all participants will also have the opportunity to travel in a joint excursion by Latvia or to one of the nearby neighbouring countries.
