Exhibition of the Latgalian newspaper and unusual collection AT Maltas in the history museum
The new year in the museum began with the opening of an unusual exhibition on 12 January, namely, for the extension of the picture of minors, two presentations and their unusual collections 25 “exhibits” (from a total of 70) were offered BY Maltas secondary school graduate, journalist, book editor and Korectore Skaidritis Svikša. Skaidrice is an unusual personality: a soulful, sincere and responsive, high-priced professional. She is Korectore, the author of many pertinent characters. If there is a Sticky Square signature under the article, it is a delusion that the article will be meaningful and pleasant.
The museum of Latgale's cultural history, the periodical researcher and the large book “Latgale cultural history” and “Latgale periodics”, the doctorate of philosophy sciences, Professor Peter Zeiles's 90-year anniversary (14 January), THE Maltas History Museum wanted to highlight the contribution of this excellent scientist in Latgale culture history and to provide insight into the latgalian culture that he studied. However, the help of the newspapers in the world of newspapers was accepted BY S. Svikša – a journalist who has been active in this field for 20 years (currently also in the edition of the “local Latgale newspaper” edition of THE monthly newsletter “Maltas news”). She told him about the book preparation work, including his collaboration with Professor Peter Zeili, editing his three books, and a presentation of the author of these 22 Latgale books.
On the other hand, the unusual collection of newspapers is closely related to Skaidrice's professional activities, and the first newspaper – from Hong_Kong – has been found in order to surprise Maltas young people when they started to run a group of children and young people (BJC). In the second part of the event, she offered a presentation about her discoveries in world newspapers, and she could look and feel how many different sizes and even paper papers. The lecturer drew attention to things that in our stereotypic thinking are not typical of the newspapers that we know in Latvia. In the formation of newspapers, each country has its own traditions, which are different in shape, column placement and font application, use of the rational or economical newspaper area. It was interesting to find out that the newspapers of the Eastern countries are readable, from our perspective, from the last page to the first, but the newspapers issued in America etc. are large-scale and split into separate thematic blocks. It must be acknowledged that it is probably intentional that there is no need to argue with the family in the press at breakfast table, as each can take and read the thematic section that is interested in each other. The newspapers issued in Russia still use Soviet-time symbols. Britain was amazed by the thickness of newspapers, while the Scandinavian countries, with the enormous pictures and the specific first page. In view of the newspapers, it can be concluded that the design and content reflected in Latvia are more similar to newspapers issued in Germany and other European countries.
The museum thanked the great opportunity to explore the first Latgalian newspapers, to reveal THE unique book of THE Zeiles “Latgale periodics”, as well as to the presentations and the world newspapers and the opportunity to exhibit the unique collection of the museum! Also thanks to the visitors of the event – young people, the active visitors of museum events – seniority, as well as other activists and REPRESENTATIVES of Maltas BJC.
By 26 January, the history museum OF Maltas can still look at Peter Zeiles's books, the world newspaper collection of newspapers, as well as Soviet newspapers issued in Latvia. All welcome!
