School year AT Gaigalavas primary school — under the flag of Mammadaba embassy
In the 2011/2016 school year, THE Gaigalavas primary school in the North Latgale region called itself the Embassy of Mammadaba and the flag of Mammadaba was flapping throughout the school year. The school was between eight Latvia greenest schools, which have been nominated by THE Latvian State Forests and the Education and Science Ministry's National Education Content Centre as a result of friendly agreement with a common goal of bringing the school to nature. The honorary school of Mammadaba's embassy was earned in the 2014/2015 school year, actively demonstrating their knowledge, skills and love for forests, forest values and the environment: planting trees, collecting nature, laying bird cages, participating in forest olymmetry, visiting Mammadaba objects and integrating environmental education in a comprehensive manner within the masterclass of Mammadaba.
This school year OF Gaigalavas primary school students and teachers was particularly busy. Students actively demonstrated their knowledge, skills and love for forests, forest values and the environment.
On September 1, 2015, the flag of Mammadaba was pulled into the flag. Viktor Reblis, executive director of THE Latvian State Forestry Forestry Forestry, called on the honour of the entire school year to honour the special duties of Ambassadors of Mammadaba, giving the Green Honor and positive inspiration as natural as so far! The school library was supplemented by books on forest, forest values and environmental news from THE “Latvian State Forests” and the Latvian Forest Science Institute “Silava”.
On September 21, Pigman from Latvia's State Forests came to the school to run the lesson “Nemeselo Forest!” Classes 1-9. Hogman discovered the dirty forest secrets – the pigs in Latvia – and the fact that there is no place in the forest. Animals must live there and grow trees, but the waste must be located in a waste container. Each of us has the chance to make our land cleaner.
On 1 October, students in Classes 1-9 went to the tourist and recreational centre “Ezernieki” in Luban municipality to participate in the Mammadaba affair competition – where there was not only a smooth leg but also a clever head, as a gentle forestry trail should be found at each checkpoint. “Ezernieki” students were met by the instructor with cards and compasses. Four distance lengths ranging from 2.0 to 4.5 km were offered to pupils. Students in pairs or groups, but primary school classes with teachers, received a map and went to the forest where they visited checkpoints in a specific order. At checkpoints, there were questions about gentle forest management. Questions had to be answered by leaving the compost print in the correct box in the checkcard attached to the card. After all checkpoints, the pupils returned to the start where they checked the accuracy of the answers. After an orientation, the pupils were waiting for a fire with warm tea and sausages.
In a sunny afternoon of 20 October, the 7 th-9 th pupils in the course of their careers went to the Forests' trail! ”to the Madona forest compartment at the waves of Otcopper. The students had the opportunity to observe and explore the forest, listening to the forest narrative of the processes in the forest, to look at the work of the logging technique: logs of logs, harvesting tractors, excavators. The pupils had previously prepared questions to which the logist gave an exhaustive response.
On 17 March 2016, in the school holidays, 12 Gaigalavas primary school teachers in continuing education courses in the tourism and recreational centre “Ezernieki” developed their knowledge in environmental education regarding sustainable forest management. Teachers met THE history of the “Latvian State Forests”, the activities of the units, the social responsibility and the objectives set by the company, the processes in the forest, the forest management cycle, the significance of the stockpiling and sanitary felling, practically determined the age of the young stand, the age of trees and the height of the trees.
On April 20 - Classes 3, 6, 7 and 8, along with the Latvian bird fund ornithologist, Grandāns went to the bird-watching excursion at THE UTC “lighthouse” and the Aiviekstes dam. With binoculars and telescopes, pupils tried to see a bird through the cane trees. Although the rain was raining and the wind was strong, the 365 bird species found in Latvia managed to observe around 20.
On 6 May, the 4 th-6 th class students, together with their educators, took part in 88. In the forest days, went to clean the forest - collect waste AT Gaigalavas in the forest area at the road section Gaigalava – Darvaskalns. The pupils took approximately 6 kilometres. Inese Apšeniece and Juris Mežatučs had TAKEN care of the “Latvian State Forests” employees, after work, at the St Lake on active recreation and interesting, sporting and investigative activities.
On 26 May, THE 15 most active pupils of the primary school of Gaigalavas, on participation in competitions, views, Olympics and Mammadaba project activities, went TO “Latvian State Forests” in a paid training excursion to the Tērvete Nature Park. The Nature Park met Anne Brigadier's fairy tales, visited the funeral and Annele trail, was in the Ruc and the village, the village in the forest and the witch warm, climbed 39 metres in the high wooden view tower. During the school year, the pupils were active in Mammadaba's masterclass with their classmates: they took part in an outdoor masterpiece, using natural materials; built wood and other natural materials in wooden masters; prepared bird cages; actively engaged in forest statement activities in the forest masterdays. As proof of the active activity and the work carried out, all classes acquired THE diplomas and badges of Mammadaba masters of the Latvian State Forests. In Latvia, the Mammadaba masterclass graduated and titles from 151 schools were awarded - 390 masters and 98 apprenticeships.
Also this year, THE PRIMARY school OF Gaigalavas is among 33 schools in Latvia, which are awarded the highest rating - the diploma of the International Environmental Education Foundation (Foundation for Enviromental Educaton – FEE) acquired in Mammadaba masterclass – Certificate of Achievement.
On 30 May, during the last day of the school year, classes were presented during the course of the school year in Mammadaba. In the celebration event, the Latvian National Forests' Executive Director, Victor Reblis of Forestry, and handed over a wooden figure to be added to the school mastery forest, with the wish to continue works in the masterclass, had arrived at the festive event.
By lowering the flashing flag of the Mammadaba embassy and looking back at the accomplishment, we can say that we have honoured the Green Goods and fulfilled the duties of the Ambassadors and will continue to work to become the Embassy of Mammadab in North Latgale 10 years later! We will continue to carry out the Green Goods and inspire ourselves and our fellow people to green jobs.
