Project “Complement of Salt Lake Fish Stocks” in Makoņkalna parish
The lake is located in the parish of Rezekne municipality in Makoņkalna parish and is part of a specially protected nature area – Razna National Park, which is a Natura 2000 site. By complementing fish resources with juvenile juveniles, the long-term exploitation of Salai Lake will be encouraged.
The project “Supplement of lake fish stocks” was submitted and approved at the Council meeting of the Fish Fund, the “propagation and reproduction of fish resources in public bodies and bodies of water in which the fishing rights are owned by the State, in other bodies of water which are owned by the State or local government, as well as in the private rivers where fishing is permitted”. A total of 17,000 pieces of this year's plot of juveniles were put up for a total amount of EUR 4760,00. Aid from the fish fund 4188,80 EURO, while the co-financing of the project was provided by the association “Razna National Park Society” – 285,60 EURO and the municipality of Makokalns parish – 285,60 EURO.
Fish juveniles were supplied by a fish farm from Estonia “Kalatalu Harjanurmes”. In the weighing and stocking of juvenile juveniles, representatives of the municipality of Makoņkalns parish, the Rēzekne Regional Environment Administration, the Food and Veterinary Service North Latgale administration, as well as the representative of the fish farm “Kalatalu Harjanurmes” participated.
