Martins at Rēzen's primary school
On Martin's day, the sun-creative workshops, performing the project “by the sun from Miķeli to winter sunshine”, visited Stoļerovas parish, Rēzne's primary school. The school students engaged in drawing, traditional singing and wooden design workshops. Although Martin is more than an autumn festival, the dark evenings have already burned long after the sun's energy, which will begin to return to the winter sunshine. The workshops were already a small preparation for solar waking. There was a joy in each of them – Christmas tree trees and decorations – fish, sunshine, brightly coloured and sunlight were formed from the tree. The students of the younger classes particularly liked to learn the first skills in the games of the People's Music Instruments, together with the young people of John Ivanova Rēzekne's music secondary school, and singing songs of sunlight.
The painting of the colored sun Rēzekne's art and design secondary school painting, Inga Onjevas, was painted, marked and recognized by children in the drawing lesson. And in the painting there is one of his own suns, which will form one large sun from the works of all four children of the school.
The creative partnership project includes the activities of the Rēzekne cultural education school youth organized activities in Rēzekne Municipality Gaigalavas, Sakstagala and the children of the Rēznas elementary school – joint creative workshops in metallic art, clay, textile, co-created sun drawings and sun songs. The theme of the sun is one of the most deeper in both Latvian traditional music and the symbols and drawings of ethnographic characters. The most popular colour in the sun is red and yellow. The sun teaches justice and mercy - it shines equally to everyone. The sun is also told by the fairy tales, calling for a positive, awakening solar warmth in itself and others.
The project creates an interest through work, inviting its participants to explore the sun, the nature of nature and its significance. Since project activities in schools have started in autumn – at a time when the sun remains less – it will be searched in accessories and wakened in the final event before Christmas, December 11, Sakstagala parish.
The project is supported by the creative partnership projects of the Ministry of Culture.
