Meteņi is an ancient Latvian spring festival celebrated seven weeks before Easter. In a liturgy year, the great gay, which runs until Easter, celebrates the festival of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
According to ancient traditions, the Meters are particularly delighted when a winter is spent with fun, toy and songs and spring waiting starts. They're going to go to the villages. In Franz Trassun's museum, “Colnasate” had arrived at Sakstagala Jānis Kco's primary school pupils with his mentor Rasma Puduli.
The guests took an active part in Youtras's relay, went into the toys, danced the folklore's “Colnasate” of the mask and warmed the fire. At the end of the event, all were treated with pancakes, which are the Monday symbol, and the traditional Calnasat peppermint tea.
Thanks to everyone who remembered ancient Latvian traditions and with active activities, positive emotions took part in the event.
