Multimedia art enters Rezekne municipality
The municipality of Rezekne is involved in the “European Connections in Digital Arts” project supported by the European Union programme “Creative Europe” — EUCIDA (digital art covers Europe – LV) in cooperation with digital art centres in Dublin (Ireland) and Belfort (France).
The project coordinator Inta Rimšāne said that by 31 December 2019, all stakeholders will be able not only to see the digital art exhibitions of Irish and French artists IN Lūznavas Manor, but also to meet the artists of different countries, to visit creative workshops, and to try the digital laser facilities themselves in the creation of artistic works. The equipment acquired as a result of the project will be a valuable contribution to the development of this art sector and modern, new talent-based cultural environments in the municipality of Rezekne.
The digital art is currently getting more popularity across the world. It is an art created by computer technology. As a result of the use of global web-based media, digital art is also called multimedia, or multimedia art or new media art.
The total budget of the project is 347580,90 EURO, of which EUR 41000 – the co-financing part of the municipality of Rezekne, 1046,90 EURO is the profit from the participation fee for participation in the creative workshops and the attendance of exhibitions and EUR 43838,10 is the financing of THE “creative Europe” programme.
The first exhibition in Rēzekne District AT Lūznavas in Manor, as well as in Ireland and France, will be organised in June and July 2017.
By November 30, 2016, project organisers are looking for an international exhibition curator with at least five years of experience. More information in English (in Annex).
