Roman Catholic Church – 100
With a solemn service on August 3, at 10.00 centuries will celebrate one of the most prominent Church of Latgale, the Catholic Church of Nautrand in Rogovka. The majestic Roman-style god would honor even a great city with its magnificence and the size of the building.
The first wooden church was in the grave of Zogota. In 1799, this wooden church was transferred to Rogovka and dedicated to the Honor of the First Virgin Marie. A wall bell and a stone wall fence were built at the church. In 1901, the foundation of the stone church began to be buried, it was at the time of the Diacon Andriva Kantinyka. In 1903, the deputy D. Jasinskis continues construction work, and as early as 1912 the church of the church is completed by the priest Csaver Martinenz. The year of construction of the church is 1914, when the church was consecrated.
In 1939, the organ of the decane Ignata Deca, which was also donated by the then President of Latvia Karlis Ulmanis, the great altar and the church's step. By 1934, the most clergy of all Latgale congregations, including Bishop Joseph Ranāns, had come from the Nautrian parish. Nautrani is also proud of the priest, Pujatu, who has given Latvia a cardinal Jānis Pujatu.
This church has not only an architectural value but also a huge cultural historical significance in Latgale's destiny, a new book on Nautrana Roman Catholic Church will be presented on August 3 after the service. The presentation will include the author Andra Zubko - Melne, the linguist, Professor Anna Stafecka, 11. Saeima deputy Livija Plavinska, soldier Andris Baltacis.
