The photographer dedicated to the memorial of John Gleizda
At the end of this weekend, Rogovka's village had become a photographer of Latvian photographer, as so many photometrists with large and smaller photobags and other posts could not be seen so often. From 22. By May 24, the photographer of the great photographer Jānis Gleizda (1924 –2010) was held in Rēzekne District, with six dozens of photographer from Latvia. As a member of the plenary session, the photohistorian Pēteris Korsaks, since the 90 s of the last century, such a large photographer event in Latvia takes place for the first time.
Although the activities of the photographer took place in four parishes of Rezekne municipality – Nautrēnu, Bērzgales, Lendžu and Ilzeskalna parish, Rogovka, Nautrēnu secondary school, which was also completed by Janis Gleizds, became the home of the event. Here, at the school's hotel, the photographer had accommodation and catering, as well as interesting and varied lectures and seminars on photomart. In the meantime, the photographer were divided into teams who went to all four parish to capture their daily events, nature, people. In order to accidentally unmistaken, the parish managers had taken up their parish maps, which were distributed to each member.
AT THE Nautrēnu High School, Anita Zogota, with the introduction of Rogovka, said with humor that Rogovka had to make two things in Rogovka – the fortune of frogs in the pond and the ovens flowing in the towel of the trees. Indeed, at the end of May, Rogovka is sinking in the clouds of hopes and Abbey flowers, at the place of the hotomarist's homeland house in Vecgailumi, the sun is mirrored in the clear waters of Lake Gailums and a stubborn old-fashioned old-fashioned Liepa. The beauty and strength of his own mother's side had been taken by John Gleisd, a photographer, a legend who, in spite of his harsh fate, had been able to learn photography after losing both hands, and become the excellence of this area, creating photographs showing the viewers with their delicacy and poetry.
The initiator of the photographer, the head of the photographer of Latgale, Igors Pličs emphasized that the initial goal of the plenary session was mainly to memorize the memorial of John Glazda. The idea of creating a memorial mark and restoring the crucifix in the place of Gleizda's homeland, while the President OF the Rēzekne council, Monvīds Švarcs, has suggested that a photo exhibition be held. “If you need an exhibition, you must make a trip to the photographer and take a picture.” I sent a letter, the response was very large, came about 80, came less, but too much. All Latvian provinces are represented by Ventspils, from Liepaja, from Bauska, from Jurmala, Salaspils, Riga, also from Latgale. ”
Igor Plich acknowledges that such Plenipotentiaries are also important for the photographer themselves, as they help strengthen the links of friendship and cooperation and increase their level of professionalism. “The photographer in Latvia is much, but the latch of its professionalism has now been dissolved, there is no longer an art Council that will evaluate the works, each now in itself.”
Among the members of the photographer was the photohistorian, the three-star officer Peter Korsak. Before going to photograph the parish OF Lendžu, he is still able to tell a beautiful story about John Gleizda. “Latgalian Janis Gleizds is a photographer - legend throughout this post-war period. When John was still alive, a tourist group from Austria had arrived at the photo museum, they had seen Glezd's exhibitions in this isohelical technique and wanted to meet him. I talked to a meeting, we went to John's apartment. As they were surprised that a man could make such fine work without his hands, they did not understand how it was possible, then he demonstrated how the camera's switch was fastened with his tongue. '
The following members are also pleased with the opportunity to participate in the plenary session:
Anatols Kauškalis (Kraslava). “I support Plich's event, because he is the only person who tries to memorize John Glazda's memory.” A photographer, a famous photographer, i often travel to Ukraine, also knows him. I came to the plenary because i want to take a picture of Latgale. '
League Zarina (Riga). “I'm the first time in Latgale, i had a lot of encouragement, because i'm not a professional photographer, also a very shy character, it's hard for me to take pictures, but i want to hurt it.” I want to take photos of Latgale people and the beautiful nature. '
The photographer was financially supported by the municipality of Rezekne, as well AS Nautrēnu, Lendžu, Bērzgales and Ilzeskalna parish administration. Travelling exhibitions in each of the parish and the municipality of Rezekne will be created from the plenary works. The opening of both exhibitions and memorial marks is foreseen in autumn of that year.
