Closed World Championship for young people in 100 field checkers in Turkey

The largest and most important event of this year is the World Youth Championship in the 100-field tournament in Ismira, Turkey, which ran from October 28 to November 4. It included 222 athletes (119 young people and 103 young people) from 19 countries from Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. Latvia was represented by the 16 best participants, including the only representative from our Latgale region, the child-youth sports school student of Rezekne, Christine Malahovska.

Classic time control 80 min. + 1 min. for each move, and 5 min. + 3 sec for each move. Therefore, in sometimes classics, one batch may take 4 hours. As the competition took place in the city of resort, then the participants had a chance to rest at the warm Aegean Sea, as the air temperature is +25 and water +20. The Latvian Favorites struggled to enter the strongest triangle, but the other state representatives were stronger this time. More than half of his team was collected by 3 young people – neal Christine, Vsevolods Mitrevics and Robert Grišin. The others had a little less, but there was no Latvian player who would remain at the end of the table. However, these competitions showed that there are strong and talented gamblers in Latvia who will soon be standing on the world's highest pedestal! Just a little more work, attention and faith in our forces!
