Monitoring of bathing waters
In June, July and August, the municipality of Rezekne conducts monitoring of bathing waters in public water bodies and local government properties.

The bathing sites in Luban Lake (Gaigalavas parish area) and Razna Lake (Lipušku village at the school) are included in the list of bathing sites for the resources allocated to the State budget.
Microbiological examinations were carried out in the samples of bathing waters and the visual observation of each bathing site was carried out.
In accordance with microbiological indicators of the monitoring of bathing water quality and visual inspection observations in the month of July, it is permitted to swimming in these bathing areas.
In 2019, the municipality of Rezekne has concluded a contract with the scientific institute “BIOR” for food safety, animal health and the environment.
In the municipality of Rezekne, information was received from the Health Inspectorate on inspections carried out on the quality of bathing water quality 8, 9 July, it is recommended not to swim in Jurmala's bathing site “Vaivari” due to increased microbiological contamination. The remaining 56 official bathing sites are allowed to swim.
All information on the official and informal bathing sites in which the quality of the water is checked shall be available on the website of the www.vi.gov.lv website under environmental health — bathing water monitoring. The results of the survey of non-official bathing sites for which the Inspectorate will receive the results of analyses will be available at the time of the entire season. The analysis of informal bathing sites is carried out at the initiative of local authorities.
The inspection of water quality in 57 official sea and inland bathing sites will be inspected by 15 September, taking water samples at bathing sites every month. The next planned analyses will be carried out on 5 and 6 August.
