Pre-school educational institutions resume activities for 5-6 year-olds
As of 13 May, the educational process for children at compulsory educational age is resumed in all educational institutions of Rezekne municipality. Resume on-site or remote learning is a parental decision. For children of 5-6 years of age whose parents will choose to leave children at home, pre-school educational institutions will continue to provide training remotely.
A survey was carried out in educational institutions, whose data indicate that 181 students are continuing to attend the programme, and 139 students have selected programmes for the acquisition of the programme.
By May 12, the municipalities of the municipality of Rezekne were active in the pre-school educational institutions in which children were taken, if it was not possible for parents to provide children with the care of children otherwise. Until the cancellation of the emergency situation, the duty groups will be working in such mode.
All precautions are taken into account in educational institutions. Intensified cleaning, disinfection and regular ventilation of rooms are carried out. Hand disinfectants, gloves, personal protective equipment shall be available for the needs of employees.
The municipality of Rezekne thanks the parents of the children who are responsible for the Cabinet regulations.
On 7 May, amendments to Cabinet Order No. 103 “on the announcement of emergency situation” foresee an extension of the emergency situation until 9 June 2020. The amendments are reduced by the adoption of amendments. This also applies to pre-school educational institutions, making it possible for pre-school educational institutions, together with local governments, to decide on the presence or distance of children of 5-6 years of age.
