Students of classes 1-9 of THE Feimaņu primary school had the opportunity to receive additional funding from the “School of Latvia” programme in order to meet circus artists who, together with the pupils, endured and created festive feelings during Christmas.

A professional Riga circus artists' duet Valerijs Commissionarenko and Alīna Kašāne came to school on 13 December with a theatrical circus exhibition “Buonade” and a circus masterclass in classes 1-9. The aim is to create an interest in circus art and to raise awareness of the diversity of circus art.

This kind of event at school took place for the first time and gave a very great interest, a lot of bright, positive emotions in pupils and teachers.

The masters could not only observe the performances of circus artists, but also take the opportunity to try their own forces in a number of circus disciplines, assess their physical preparedness, capture adventure joy and improve self-awareness.

The pupils were very active in the whole process. The pupils wrote that they liked everything that happened during the event, because there was an interesting and exciting adventure. The pupils said that the circus activities were exciting, especially the possibility of walking past wooden legs - “bunches”, cutting plates on the sticks, driving wheels, juggling.

The event will contribute to expanding the interest and vision of pupils into an area of art - circus. It was an interesting and exciting adventure, because students had a chance to be a circus artist and try different tricks.

We say the greatest gratitude to the artists of Riga circus about the opportunity to become acquainted with the profession of circus artist. Thank you very much for the co-ordinator of the programme “Latvian School Finish” in the municipality of Rezekne, Aija Dundurei, on the possibility of receiving additional funding.
