Implementation of the “Latvian School Finish” programme at the Graduate School of Gaigalava

At the 2 nd school semester of 2022.2023, THE “Latvian School Finish” programme was successfully implemented at Gaigalavas primary school. The purpose of the “Latvian School Finish” programme is to provide Latvian school-aged children and young people with the opportunity to experience Latvia in the framework of the acquisition of guaranteed education, to explore and explore Latvian values, cultural space and relationships in dynamic and meaningful activities, thereby strengthening the sense of belonging and the national identity.

Classes 1-6 were visited by Ludza. Pupils participated in the museum pedagogical lesson “medieval times in Ludza District”. The lesson took place in a medieval exhibition room with interesting museum items. The pupils had a picture of the lifestyle and occupation of people in the Middle East, as well as an understanding of the medieval events in Ludza from the 13 th century to the 16 th century. Students had the opportunity to meet the unexposed medieval objects stored in the Museum. In order to strengthen the knowledge acquired during the programme, students were offered a role game “medieval urban population”.

The pupils met the historic centre of Ludza City: the Livonian Order of the Order of Livonian Order, the Roman Catholic Church of the Roman Catholic Church of Ludza, the Church's Church of Karnicku, the Church's bell tower, the Orthodox Church of the Holy Our Lady of Ludza, etc. At Ludza's medieval funeral, he looked at the huge walls on the high mountain between the large and small Ludza Lake. In 1399, German crusaders built a powerful palace for the protection of Livonian Order.

After a trip, pupils wrote a story about what they had seen and heard in the Latvian language hour. The pupils admitted that it was very interesting to look at Ludza's historic centre, the Livonian Order Castle ruins, the holiday museum houses from the ancient times to the present day. The museum liked the animal division, various ancient weapons, dishes, money, skeleton, etc. It was exciting to walk along the pondboard bridge.

 Classes 4-9 went to know Ventspils. Participated in the museum pedagogical lesson in Livonian Order Castle “My Museum - My Palace, I”. At the beginning of the lesson, the pupils learned the story of the Livonian Order of the Palace of Livonian Order, who introduced them to the Middle-time world and introduced the origin of the palace, with life in the Palace of Livonian Order in the Middle Ages, and called for a study of what the castle was serving. The pupils learned: what are the museums? What do they do? Why a museum? What is the museum exhibit? Who works in the museum? He met the exhibition of the Palace, which reports the history of Ventspils municipality, Kurdish, Livonian and Latvian material culture, and went to travel, looking at various times and values and lifestyles, ranging from 13.gs to 19.gs. through Ventspils Castle, city and municipality views prism. The students had to perform a variety of tasks related to the Livonian Order Castle.

During the sessions, the pupils met Ventspils City, looking at Livonian Order Castle, where there was a lot of interesting facts about Ventspils history. The delight was caused by the Livonian Order Castle, a very binding and interesting guide to the history of the castle. It was possible to see the inner courtyard of the castle, the chapel of the castle, which is the oldest preserved church space in Kurzeme, the prison, the location of the army parts, the unique pieces of the 15 th-17 th century. He learned about the formation of the palace, which in this castle was in several periods of time, as restored the castle after the war. The pupils listened with great interest, asked questions, all the rooms that were very much and each of them had their own story. They knew about the knights, understood how they lived, what they did and why the castle was built.

In the area of the seasonal museum, pupils surveyed the exhibitions of ethnographic nature, which show traditions the root of which is centuries old. It is currently the only direct-to-fisheries museum in Latvia with fishermen, armors and windmills, flue houses, smokers, network halls and other exhibits of the municipality.

A large collection of sea fishing boats and the largest anchors in the Baltic States with 152 exhibits from 17.gs to today.

He visited Jurmala Park with two special trails, anchor trail and jungle trail.

Ventspils is a city that does not leave indifference. It was fascinating to see the historic centre, the market square, the narrow pavement streets, find out why there were so many cows sculptures in the city. Ventspils is the capital of flowers and fountains, the streets of its streets and even the coloured cows, streets, parks and sculptures of scattered flowers.

Although the road was quite distant, the pupils enjoyed the journey, the reviews from all were 100 % positive, very many had not been in Ventspils. The pupils could see the sea, some sea saw the first time.

The journey succeeded and improved pupils' collaboration between classmates, schoolmates and teachers. The acquired knowledge will be able to be used in the learning process.
