“Green Class – 2016” competition “cosmic adventure”

Traditionally, EVERY year, Gaigalavas primary school participates IN “Latvijas Finieris” Green classes in the project. Also this year, the children of the group of natural friends were looking forward to announcing the subject of this year and launching the study. This year's theme was very unusual - “cosmic adventure.” This meant a study on modern space technologies, their daily use and the forest sector. In parallel, it had to film a five-minute film about space technology and the opportunities to live on Mars. The subject is really very complex and labour-intensive. For our school pupils, it gave it an opportunity for creative expression, as the five-minute pictures of the film were drawn by all the school pupils. In the production of the film, the oldest class students took part in the film. The film was inserted into social facebook.com and draugiem.lv profiles.
The final of the “green-class” project took place on 5 and 6 July in Abragciema. This year, the children's science centre “Z (in) Oo” organised creative workshops where pupils and teachers could express themselves by building rockets and launching them in flight, preparing eggs for a catapultic flight, trying to walk with bunches and a lot of other tests. The most interesting thing was that teachers were also involved in all activities this year. On the evening of the first day, the children's science centre “Z (in) Oo” demonstrated a variety of experiments, creating an interest in chemistry and science, explaining the nature of experiments.
At the end of the first day, we were introduced to the day-to-day rating we had earned in workshops. THE first day of THE Gaigalavas primary school team was very lucky because we were four among the fourteen school teams. It was a good result and satisfaction of the accomplishment.
On 6 July, there was an intrigue of the school's overall score. The school awards showed how the house works were assessed, as the viewers voted for the film and how well the homework had been performed. THE Gaigalavas primary school team won 2 nd in the competition “cosmic adventure”.

Gaigalavas in the “green-class” Final Abragciem was represented by the team: Evija Bolmane, Guna Ezerasha, Kaspars Rudzusieks, Roland Stanka, Agate Matisane, Dainis Rutulis, Aivars Plush, Imants Spīch, Vineta Bolmane, Janis Poch, teacher vija Armuska and Maruta Krustne.
