The first culinary festival at THE BELLA CUISINE project was held in Rezekne

On July 20, the festival with the cultural heritage theme was held in Rezekne, Rēzekne District, the first of four planned project No. LLB-2-266 “Improving culinary services in Latgale and Vitebsk regions based on the concept of culinary heritage” (BELLA CUISINE). Approximately forty companies and household producers, project coordinators, and members of the culinary heritage network from Latgale and Vitebsk district (Belarus) participated in the festival. Visitors had a great chance of tasting the festival participants' products, mainly from local products. The participants of the Belarusian project from Miorus, Verhnedvinsk, Polocka, Lepeel and Glubokoje met with the experience of the organizing of the meals of Latgale domestic producers and members of the culinary heritage network and, in turn, offered the festival visitors to decode the food of the Belarusian culinary heritage, which was also done with great interest.
Polocka's caterers “Polock – Torg” and “Tavych”, the rural house “Zagorany”, as well as the cafe “volna”, participated with their confectionery and cooking food. From Miorus, the countryside “Dostatok” and “U Petrovicha”. From Glubokoje, the rural home “Rodny kut”, “Polyanka” and “Zapovednya ostrov”, as well as the Glubokoje bread combate and the meat combate. From Lepeel - rural home “Stayaskiya pryasmaki” and “Byaseda”. Representatives of the administration from all the abovementioned municipalities had also arrived at the festival.
The festival's visitors, with great interest, watched the boiling process of Razna Lake's fish soup under the direction of Irene Brooch, and so much exciting soup of meat and greasy (hamsters) on the fire was boiled by the members of “Latgolys Gold”. The “Christ Gords” association was preparing mapping and zakuska (snacks) consisting of cheques, berries and bread (fat, cucumbers and bread). An elegant offer was for the restaurant Rosalie, where it is also possible to enjoy Latgale's culinary inheritance meals on a day-to-day basis - “Special cheese roller” (the name of a recipe named Maltese meat with peppermint), kykalkas (white bread) in a sweet cream sauce. There was a wide range of cheeses – SIA TRY from Andrupenes with six cheeses, z.s “Linnas” from Livans, “Vilcans” from Preilu municipality, as well as “Latgolys Golds” and others. Several domestic producers offered meat products – dried meat, fat, sausages and other products. EVERY “Colnasate” offered the self-wound beer, which was assessed by the events of the event. Interesting and delicious, a large assortment was Martha's Estonian Wine from Nagļiem, Rēzekne municipality. And where there are pancakes and honey and confectionery. All that could be enjoyed in countless tastes!
The festival took place IN THE project LLB-2-266 “Improving culinary services in Latgale and Vitebsk regions, based on the concept of culinary heritage” within the framework of the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument for Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus cross-border cooperation programme. Total budget of the project: EUR 483 195,05. From this amount, 90% – 434 875.54 EURO is the support of the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument for Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus.
