Road devastation carried out in Rezekne municipality
The municipality of Rēzekne, in the care of the quality of life of the population, has carried out gravel dedusting works to reduce dust.
In the municipality, the total length of the municipal roads is ~ 1797 kilometres and ~ 1267 kilometres are gravel roads, where bird is observed during the dry period. In order to mitigate this problem, the municipality of Rezekne has carried out road treatment with calcium chloride. The total length of the processed roads is almost 62 kilometres.
“The best solution would be to process all the gravel roads of the municipality, but so much funds are not at the disposal of the municipality, so that road sections have been treated with greater traffic intensity and denser populated areas in order to reduce the problems for the population. This solution is very good for one season, and the amount of dust decreases significantly, and the expenditure on the digestion of the road is reduced slightly, as the Trepe is almost not formed,” says the Communal ingenieris Albert Kindzulis of the municipality of Rezekne.
The transport of the road from May 10 to May 20 was carried out by THE company SIA Eco Baltia Environment, which won the procurement, the processing of one square metre cost 26.9 cents (excluding VAT). This type of treatment should be carried out once a season.
The municipality of SIA Eco Baltia has been carrying out this type of road treatment for four years and has been positively assessed by the population.
Small doses of calcium chloride are used in the production of milk products and are present in nature. Compared to sodium chloride (winter passive salt), it is at least three times less harmful. Previous observations have shown that the grass has not started to be dried at any site where the dust is cleared.
