Rēzeknes and Viļānu are led by 15. Book holidays
In a summer mood, THE sunny day of 19 August, Maltā took place in Rēzekne and Viļānu in 15. Book festival. Malta welcomed the festival participants very hospitally, who met and drove in a large number, around four hundred visitors. A variety of activities and exhibitions were offered for children, young people and adults throughout the day.

In the story of a fairy squirrel, children moved from one activity to another, where children learned as a top illustration book in co-operation with the artist Ilzi dambi, and designed the aircraft with an unknown, made notebooks and knew the mystery of birth numbers with the wisdom owl. Teenagers and young people were happy to try the henna drawings in the Marianne Golden Workstation, in collaboration with the star ABC.
All interested, and very much, had the opportunity to participate in the animal world with Ingmārs Livka. But those who wanted to reveal the museum's ghost took part in this interactive work. On the other hand, the adult readers had a unique opportunity to meet the famous writer, the winners of the amber Soduma prize, and the Iksten to talk about her younger novel “mother's milk.”
The book festival was very interesting, exciting and fast, thanks to a variety of programmes, good organization, weather, and, of course, a delicious lunch.
The book “Return to Europe...” was presented at the festival in 2016, a donation of the European Parliament's Member of Sandra Kalnietes (EKLP) to Latvian libraries.
The festival participants received the gifts from political parties - the Union of Greens and Farmers, the Unity, the Socialist Party of Latvia, the Valda Zatlers, Sandra Kalnietes, the Latvian children's fund, SIA Lattelecom, SIA vesta-LK, SIA printing and publishers in rural newspaper, star ABC, Nordik, Jumava, source, twelve. The libraries received gift cards for purchase of books for 600.00 euros from the Union of Greens and Farmers, unity and the Latvian children's fund.
Traditionally, after the activities, the latest book was published, with luck smiling at many festival participants, drawing new books.
At the end of the festival with the jestro musical greeting, everyone was delighted by the Latgalian postfolklore group “rikis”.
