The Rēzekne business association meets with the management of the Rēzekne municipality council
On February 12, 2016, the businessmen represented in the Rēzekne business association met the Chairman of the Rēzekne District Council, Monweed Shvard and Head of Development Planning Unit, Annu Jaudzemu, to listen to current information about the development of business infrastructure and discuss opportunities for mutual cooperation.
In the near future, the municipality of Rezekne intends to implement a number of infrastructure recovery projects important for business activities, including the organisation of municipal roads within the framework of the Latgale Programme and Rural Development Programme (EAFRD). This infrastructure is also important for the day-to-day business of companies.
Entrepreneurs were interested in farmers' co-operation and “green procurement”, road infrastructure management and other issues. The local government and the association of entrepreneurs mutually welcomed the current cooperation in the organisation of the exhibition “Rezekne businessman”, in particular the exhibition of the 2015 exhibition “Illolots Rēzekne District”, where more than 20 municipalities, farmers, craftsmen and entrepreneurs were represented.
The Rēzekne business association has been active since 2009 and brings together 23 cities and runs companies with more than 1700 employees. Such meetings with representatives of local governments and public institutions are the opportunity for entrepreneurs to be informed and heard, as well as share the experience accumulated in the development of their business. The municipalities of both the city and the municipality, such as the metalworking company LEAX Rēzekne and NOOK, representatives of the wood processing company Gravtex, the flax processing company Balwill East and other companies, had arrived at the meeting with the management of the municipality.
It is intended that the management meetings of such entrepreneurs and municipalities will be held quarterly, thus promoting mutual awareness and cooperation.
