“Distribution Network” has developed an e-tool for logging on electronetwork damage on the website
When regular network upgrades are performed, the total number of lesions of THE “distribution network” and the duration of the breakdowns will be reduced every year, however it is not possible to protect the power network completely from damage. Damage to the electrical network may be caused by adverse weather conditions, contact with animals, incidental damage caused by various economic operators. In order to promote effective communication between client and company, residents of the network are invited to log on to the “distribution network” website www.sadalestikls.lv – with the help of a newly created e-tool.
The “login fault” button is found in the first view of the “distribution network” website and can be easily used in the smartphone. When you press it, the customer will be able to report on the power supply break, voltage fluctuations, or visible damage to the “distribution network” infrastructure. It is essential that the customer will be able to follow the familiar on the digital map (in “Applications”), the status of the reported damage will be visible alongside the address. In particular, the customer will be able to be informed when the application is handed over to the masters, to see that the masters are on the way to the place of damage, that the works are already in progress or that the works have been completed. The status information returns every 15 minutes.
Notification of damage and further coordination of information shall take place IN 100% automated. Integration with corporate dispatchers and other systems, as well as the digital map, provides an opportunity to follow damage prevention status in digital map 24/7.
"More than 99% of“ distribution network ”services are carried out by our customers permanently in the company's e-environment and the“ distribution network ”does everything to offer new digital services every step. The registration of damage on the website and the possibility of follow-up in the digital map are a significant step in the digitisation of the“ distribution network ”and have not been a service in the utilities sector in Latvia. As demonstrated by the experience of customers, – you need about a minute to log on to the website. Customer responsible attitudes and involvement in the discovery of infrastructure damage will, in turn, allow the “distribution network” to prevent emergency situations faster and to provide an increasingly high-quality electricity service, " Member of the Management Board of the Distribution Network and Director of clients Baiba Prieditte.
The total length of the distribution grid in Latvia reaches almost 93 000 kilometres, so the possibility to submit damage to the website of the service provider 24/7 enhances the exchange of operational information, helps to unlock the call centre and thereby also optimise the costs in the long term. It is also expected that this tool will contribute to the maintenance of the electricity grid and the strengthening of the security of electricity supply through wider public participation in the identification of infrastructure defects.
The possibility of claiming damage not only through the call centre, but also digitally, will be a broader emergencies in situations that often occur during storms. Last year, more than a quarter of the total network damage recorded throughout the year was caused directly by adverse weather conditions, almost every fifth damage was linked to the interruption of electrical supply caused by animals (most often birds), while some 14 th damage had occurred due to third-party intervention – most often the various economic operators were inadvertently damaging the electrical lines with specialised machinery.
The “distribution network” recalls that if electricity is “lost”, the first step to be taken is to check the “fuses” of the property or they have not closed. Second step: Enter the address in the digital lesion card found in www.sadalestikls.lv if this damage is already registered, it is not necessary to resubmit it. If the “fuses” are not locked and the damage on the card is not yet registered, it can be easily logged in using the new e-tool.
In addition, the customer may receive operational information on damage in his property by registering his contact information (mobile phone number or e-mail) in the “distribution network” client portal e-st.lv – then e-mail or sms will be received within 20 minutes of the fixation of the damage.
In cases where an Internet connection is not available, the interruption of the power supply can still be recorded by calling the “distribution network” fault login phone 8404. On the other hand, if a resident has become a victim of witnesses that may endanger human life, such as a broken, sparkling electric line wire etc., contact the rescue services immediately by calling 112!
