This year, a new track record was installed on Razna – Mākoņkalns
On Saturday, May 11, Mākoņkalna parish in Lipušku village at Mākoņkalna primary school was first given a start for the mass run “Razna – Mākoņkalns 2013”. The running distance was approximately 3.5 kilometres long, and its finish was AT THE peak of Mākoņkalna (the mountain of Padebees), in Volkenberg Castle, so that the last 400 metres had to be carried out by running at the top of the mountain. This time, approximately 200 athletes participated in the run, both small and large, old and young, both with friends, families and colleagues, and individually. The participants admitted that the distance with the steep mountains and slopes had demanded a lot of strength, but it was very interesting to run, watching the scenes of the beautiful Razna National Park.
When setting up a new track record of 14 minutes and 25 seconds, the first finishing reached John Lubka from Current, while the female competition won Iveta Malta from Viļāniem. The winners each received a cash pot worth 50 lats. At the value of the money prize of 120 lats, which could be used for the purchase of sports equipment, THERE was also a Dricānu secondary school that earned a more featured school title with 44 runners. Out of 27 athletes in the first year up to 200 participants this year – it has increased the number of participants in three years, and the organisers hope that next year, a more gambling and active person will be willing to run into the Mount Mount.
