Traditional dance competition for “vedam dancing”
As a year, the programme for the acquisition and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, “Collect eimu, pulse teku” was covered by the traditional dance competition “vedam danci”.
The aim of the competition is to create a traditional cultural understanding and to encourage self-expression in the field of traditional dance: the acquisition of traditional dance footsteps and the development of dancing skills, the development of toys, pairs of dances, fraudulent dances, the updating of competition dances, the promotion of dance dancing.
The event brought together participants from THE elementary school OF Gaigalavas, the primary school of Rezna, Maltas secondary school, the secondary school of Lucia Rananes McKashan, THE SECONDARY school of Nautrēnu, and the Dagda municipality, Andrupenes elementary schools.
Pupils showed their skills in the absorption and dancing of traditional dances, toddles, pairs dances (Polkas) and scales, thus expressing their own traditions and peculiarities.
At the end of the competition, the pupils received titles: the biggest and big dancers. On 27 April, the highest titles of the titles would go to the final in Riga, where they would represent their municipality. Members of the Rēzekne municipality will represent participants from THE Nautrēnu secondary school folklore “Rogovka”, Gaigalavas primary school folklore set “Purineņš”, the position of Lucia Rananes McKashan in the upper secondary school folklore group “Cookleite” and the “Uobuleians” of the Rēzna elementary school folklore.
