Water Resource Saving Day Kaunatas in Pre-school Educational Institution
In the framework of the “global school” project, THE “bell” of THE 1 TP22T pre-school education institution took place in 5-6 year-olds “my water drop, or how i can save water”. Water is one of the most essential resources in the world and is most used in human life. The kids told everything they knew about it. The first thing that came into the children's mind is that the water is from the tap, some said that the water is from the well. We talked about the situations of water in every place of residence. We came to the conclusion that Latvia is rich in both underground waters and surface waters, but we still need to save water because there are problems with water resources in other countries and we must all be responsible for other people. We viewed images on your computer that show problems with water availability in different countries of the world, thinking how it affects people's lives.
The importance of water resources was realized by competing in relay. The purpose was to move the water, carrying it with a cup and gently filling the container; to compete, who would quickly disappoint water with a cup in another container; bring water with a bucket, not to drop it. In the end of the stables we played the play “upe tek”.
After the relay, the teacher offered a variety of situations, children had to think how they could save their water bears in such a situation. For example, how can you save water by washing the machine, or how you can save the gardens, etc. The children offered a variety of options – washing from a bucket or a special wash, a garden from a pond, with rain water, etc.
At the end of the event, each child cut out small drops of paper from the paper and stowed them in their large saved water curse, thus realizing that saving a lot of small bears, we can collect a large bear that can be useful for future needs.
