In September of that year, with the funding of the Latvian Environment Protection Fund, the project “The treasure of specially protected natural areas - a gift for Latvia from generation to generation” has been launched in cooperation with the Nature Protection Administration. This will include an exhibition, two photo albums and a book that will allow you to get closer to five Latvian special areas of conservation.
In 2017, on the eve of the centennium of Latvia, five special areas of conservation will celebrate their anniversary. The results of the project will provide an insight into the natural and cultural heritage of each of these areas.
The Cross Mountain Reserve will be rounded at 40 in the next year, but the Tych Nature Reserve is a little younger – it will be 35 years. In order to highlight the natural values found in both reserves and to allow them to be seen among others, an exhibition will be created which will travel throughout Latvia.
Kemeri National Park and the Northwest Biosphere Reserve celebrate their founding twenties in 2017. In order to familiarise citizens with the natural values of the National Park and Biosphere Reserve and the work done in twenty years, photo albums will be created.
Also for Razna National Park, the next year, the anniversary was 10 years. In this national park, natural values, cultural history and human fate are closely interchangeable, so the book in which these unique natural and man-made wealth will be reflected.
Intensive preparatory work is currently being carried out so that we can celebrate books, photo albums and exhibition festivals the following year. The project will end in late September 2017.
