More than a million euros in support of Latvian youth

This year, the third programme “Erasmus +: Youth in Action” and the “European Solidarity Corps” project call for more than 1 million (1 028 315, 30) euros to support youth projects, such as youth exchanges, volunteering, solidarity projects and others, inform the youth international programme agency (JSPA).
October 1 is the third and final deadline for submitting project applications in Erasmus +: Youth in Action and European Solidarity Corps. Therefore, youth groups, non-governmental organisations, associations, social enterprises, state and local government institutions have the last time to start working on writing project applications.
The projects of both programmes are both internationally and nationally, with the aim of improving the quality of youth work, promoting solidarity in society, encouraging young people to pursue their own projects, getting involved and becoming socially active.
On Erasmus +: Youth in Action
For Latvia for implementation of Erasmus +: Youth in Action projects in the third project competition, which will be concluded on 1 October, available 780 127.30 euro. In 2020, project applications “Erasmus +: Youth in Action” can also be presented three times. Indicative time of submission of project applications - February, April and October. 2019 is the sixth year of the Erasmus + cycle of 2014-2020. The Erasmus +: Youth in Action programme for young people aged 13-30 years, youth workers and other persons engaged in youth work, in partnership with foreign partners, has the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, skills and experience in the form of and implementation of projects.
In the Erasmus +: Youth in Action programme, it is possible to implement projects in three main actions: the first – “mobility of persons for learning purposes” (the type of mobility “youth exchanges” and “youth mobility”); the second – “strategic partnerships in the youth field”; the third – “youth dialogue projects”.
On the European Solidarity Corps
In contrast, the implementation of the “European Solidarity Corps” projects in the third project competition, which takes place by 1 October, is available at 248 188.00 euros. Also in this programme, the remaining deadline for submission of projects is 1 October. In 2020, project applications in the European Solidarity Corps programme can also be presented three times. JSPA informs that this is the second year of the “European Solidarity Corps” cycle, which generally runs from 2018 to 2020. In the “European Solidarity Corps” programme, young people aged 18-30 years have the opportunity to go to volunteering (both internationally and in individual cases - national), work paid practice (traineeships) * or work as well as implement their own solidarity projects aimed at addressing a societal challenge.
