Due to the anniversary of the anniversary announced by Pope Leon XII in 1828, the Livonian Canonic, the Rēzekne decane and the writer Jāzeps Kirkillo built a monument – “Myura Krysts” or Monument "Carrier of the Cross". The top of the column shows Christ, who is carrying a cross on his shoulders.
The monument was restored to the funds collected by the Latvian People's Front Feimaņu and opened in May 1990 on the mother's day.
