Volkenberg Castle Festival

Every year, in the summer full-time in Makokalna, the municipality of Rezekne and neighbouring municipalities are gathered together to celebrate the festival of Volkenberg Castle. On 5 July, a warm sun was shining and the clouds of rain were shielded to the edges - it was already a festive mood, not even the various performances of self-action.
The songs of the folklore from Andrupenes, Berzgales, Makoņkalns, the Russian song anchor “Raduga” from Sherjans, and the Dagda “Oscans” showed a mask theatre about the subject of marriage. Makoņkalna and Audrina liner dancers were brought into the festival concert. A mild, raitful dejassoli, as always, was scrolled by the middle-class dance collective “Cousuls”. The festival of the festival was directed by Princess Magdalene and Rēzekne Palace Princess Rose. In the course of the programme, the parish adults were also welcomed. In the concert of the concert, Makoņkalns parish administration thanked the house and the students, giving the sweet prizes, as well as traditionally all the collective participants were invited to enjoy a vegetable stew in the kitchen of the Volkenberg Castle.
