Finalisation project of the Anchupan Forest Park area
On 31 October, a project for the improvement of the Anchupan Forest Park area was concluded with the installation of benches and garbage urns, parking and handrails of disabled persons and handrails for persons with reduced mobility.
Last improvement works in the project (17.10-29.10.2014):
The local government of the Rēzekne municipality of Rēzekne started in 2012. At present, the Anchupan memorial area has been restored to a brutal cover, a stone wall wall, a renowned staircase and a built-in car park, making it attractive to visitors.
Construction works were carried out in Project No. ELRI-177 “Tartu, Rezekne, Pleskava: green management for sustainable urban development and territorial planning in Estonian-Latvian-Russian border cities” (abbreviated “GreenMan”) and was financed by Estonia – Latvia – Russia's cross-border cooperation programme 2007-2013.
It should be noted that the municipality of Rezekne also intends to continue building the park in the future. The “greenman” project, without real construction works, also developed a technical project for two kilometres of gravel cover of a natural path, providing for the installation of parking space, stowage of benches, garbage and bicycle stands, video surveillance, support handrails, information board and road signs. Funding for these works must be attracted by the local government.
Future vision of the technical project:
