8. In the world's choir Olympics, the mixed choir “Ezerland”, which won the largest number of points and gold medal in the open choir competition, was a great success. According to Cora's conductor Eric Chudars and Anda Lipsk, the “Ezerland” contest carried out a serious and complex repertoire -- the Latgalian peoples' song “Ezephans, Lubuonians” in Ilona Rupaine's finder (soliste Daiga vista), Valta owls “overnight”, the music of the Macedonian composer Zapro Zaprova “Alliluja” (soliste Ilze Grovele), as well as Norwegian composer eggs Gieilo “Ubi Caritas”.

There were 11 musical collections in this category – five choirs from Latvia, two from Germany and one choir from Jordan, Russia and Greece. It should be noted that the three highest ratings after the number of points in this choir category have been acquired by Latvian Courts – 24 points for the mixed choir “Ezerland”, 22,80 – “Atzeli” and 21,59 points for the mixed choir “mood”. In total, 7 choirs have received gold diplomas in this category, and four are silver. “At first, when we found out the results, it was hard to believe we had won,” Eric Chudars said after the competition. “We had made a serious preparatory work, and the success did not survive.”

It should be noted that, with high success, another Latgale choir-champion won the gold medal in the Rēzekne Green Hills Choice (conductor Normunds Zušs).
Latvia is a leader in terms of the number of medals. Together, our country choirs have won 33 different medals, the second place is THE U.S. choir with 24 medals, the third in Indonesia with 17 medals.
